Role Description As an H&H Engineer at Current Hydro, you will play a critical role in the technical development of our projects, supporting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses that underpin safe, efficient, and constructible designs at complex riverine and navigation structures. What You’ll Do - Work with a team of engineers to provide engineering inputs integral to new development hydroelectric projects. - Prepare and review Hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modelling for new and existing hydraulic structures for new hydropower developments to evaluate potential impacts on navigation, scour, erosion, sediment transport, ice jams, hydraulic transients, etc. in accordance with USACE requirements and other industry standards. - Provide inputs to multi-disciplinary project team members and senior stakeholders to drive design decisions and key business decisions. - Support the design and configuration of hydraulic structures and water conveyance (e.g., layout of intake/tailrace channels, cofferdams, etc). - Support other permitting modeling, such as FEMA Flood Plain No Rise certifications. - Support development of physical modeling of hydraulic structures by reviewing model development, calibration reports, test plans, test results, etc. - Evaluation of storm water runoff requirements and slope protection requirements. - Preparation of technical reports, drawings, and specifications based on hydraulic modeling. - Preparation and delivery of presentations to internal and external stakeholders. - Provide services during construction including submittal reviews, response to Contractor’s request for information, review and approval of change orders, and preparation of record drawings. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, and structural engineers, to ensure integrated project delivery. - Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design specifications. - Prepare and present technical reports and documentation to senior management and stakeholders. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university, and a Professional Engineering (PE) license. Must be eligible for registration in other states as well. - Minimum of 8 years of experience in H&H engineering. - Proven experience in H&H modeling and project management skills. - Experience with software such as HEC-RAS, GEOHECRAS, Esri GIS Software, Autodesk Civil3D. - Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. Compensation & Benefits This role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. Compensation is based on the range outlined below and is determined by several factors, including a candidate’s background, experience, location, and performance. - Salary Range: $126,000 – $189,000 per year - Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus short- and long-term disability, and voluntary life & AD&D coverage for you and your family. - Wellness and behavioral health support resources. - Healthy Rewards discounts on gyms, meal delivery, and more. - Annual Bonus: Up to 15% based on company and personal performance. - Future equity opportunities as part of our ownership programs. Job Requirements
