Job DetailsJob Location: Remote Employee - Hanover, MD 21076Salary Range: $135,000.00 - $155,000.00 SalaryTITLE: Senior Engineering Manager DUTIES: Participate in Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings with Sales, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Marketing teams to determine the product demand and forecast, manage the weekly, monthly, and quarterly production planning, and purchasing of crucial inventory items. Manage the stock levels of long lead-time items to ensure a smooth and continuous production. Work closely with the Product and Marketing teams to analyze the market needs and innovate the product catalog. Use the inputs from the Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to design, develop, and manufacture new products. Serve as the primary liaison between contract manufacturers (CMs) and in-house teams to ensure seamless execution of engineering and production requirements. Align product design, development, and manufacturing goals between internal stakeholders and external suppliers. Facilitate technical discussions and negotiations to resolve design, process, and production challenges. Drive risk management strategies to proactively address manufacturing and quality issues. Work closely with mechanical, electrical, software, and quality engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM/DFA) and cost-effective. Review and approve engineering change orders (ECOs), ensuring they are communicated and implemented efficiently at the CM. Coordinate with CMs on process validation, tooling development, and first article inspections (FAI). Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design and production processes to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. Collaborate with quality engineers to establish and maintain supplier quality standards and resolve non-conformance issues. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing defects, yield issues, and field failures. Partner with supply chain and procurement teams to monitor supplier performance, resolve bottlenecks, and optimize lead times. Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for production efficiency, cost, and quality. Provide technical oversight into supplier selection, audits, and contract negotiations. Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with (or with a Master’s degree two years of experience with): Designing mechanical systems and products; Using CAD software including SolidWorks or AutoCAD; Determining whether tooling, equipment, and part designs meet requirements; Troubleshooting and resolving design issues through production proving process; Developing and meeting project schedules and contingency plans; Developing project budgets and meeting financial goals; Developing automated and interactive reports using Power BI to track cost spending, effort estimation and control the budget; Using ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) tools including Windchill, Integrity (RV&S), and Codebeamer; Improving the product, process, and designs by various problem solving methods including creating a six sigma project (where necessary); Participating in the DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) process as a process expert; and participating in the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) preparedness and related discussions including audit support. . • Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performance and inclusive team culture. • Oversee the full software development lifecycle for features within the CM domain, from planning to production. • Partner with Product Managers to align engineering priorities with roadmap goals and business objectives. • Define technical approach and architecture in collaboration with senior engineers and architects. • Drive Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. • Identify and address technical debt, platform risks, and delivery blockers proactively. • Establish and monitor engineering quality standards, including code review, testing, and deployment practices. • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations with direct reports. • Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Platform Engineering, and Product teams to ensure seamless delivery. • Communicate team progress, risks, and dependencies clearly to senior leadership.

• Own Finance Systems Architecture • Lead the design and evolution of Ledgebrook’s finance systems centered around Workday Financials, ensuring they support scaling premium volume and product expansion. • Build systems supporting: premium accounting claims accounting billing and cash application commissions reinsurance accounting financial reporting • Design integrations between Workday and core insurance systems including: underwriting systems claims systems billing platforms reinsurance systems actuarial tools the data warehouse • Define data mappings, reconciliation logic, validation rules, and error handling for finance workflows. • Work with Finance, Accounting, and Actuarial teams to design scalable workflows for: premium accounting claims accounting billing and collections reinsurance settlements financial reporting • Translate manual processes into system-driven, automated workflows. • Build and maintain Workday reports and financial data flows used for: premium and claims reporting profitability analysis financial close processes • Ensure outputs align with audit controls and regulatory requirements • Own delivery of finance system changes including configuration, testing, UAT, and deployment. • Lead and mentor a small team responsible for finance systems and integrations as the platform grows.
