Role Location: Remote role based on Dallas, Tx About the Job You are considering: We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure / Cloud Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure across AWS using enterprise toolset. This role focuses on OS configuration management, golden image engineering, and Infrastructure as Code, working closely with security, platform, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, compliant cloud environments at enterprise scale. Your Role: - Develop and maintain Chef cookbooks, recipes, and policies to enforce Linux OS baseline configurations and compliance. - Automate onboarding of Linux systems into Chef, including bootstrapping, configuration, and compliance validation. - Own the monthly golden image lifecycle (patching, hardening, validation, versioning, and deprecation). - Build and manage AWS AMIs and Azure Managed Images / Shared Image Gallery (SIG) across accounts and regions. - Ensure images include required monitoring, security, EDR, and vulnerability scanning agents. - Design and maintain reusable Terraform modules for AWS infrastructure with secure defaults and standards. - Integrate image engineering and IaC workflows into CI/CD pipelines, with testing, validation, and quality controls. Your Skills and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - 5–8+ years of hands on experience in Linux systems engineering and OS hardening. - Proven experience in infrastructure automation and configuration management. - Strong experience with cloud platforms: AWS and Azure. - Hands on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD automation. - Solid working knowledge of Linux OS internals, security baselines, and compliance. - Proficiency with Chef and Terraform; AWS certification is a plus. The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $70,176- $170,040 . Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. The Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and optimizing the technical and functional architecture for a DoD customer. This role ensures the customer aligns with DoD policies, integrates effectively with enterprise systems, supports end-to-end workflows, and remains scalable, secure, and compliant. The architect partners with IT, cybersecurity, and data teams to translate mission needs into system capabilities and ensures the customer delivers reliable, user-centered outcomes.
