Role Description The Controller will be responsible for managing personnel in the accounting department and performing an array of accounting services including: - Data review - Data entry - Reconciliation and transaction processing - Numerous other tasks and projects Dane Street’s success relies on individual and team contributions every day. Job Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities - Responsible for the supervision of the accounting for a specific team of accountants. - Ensures the delivery of financial statements within the required client delivery date. - Communicates regularly with clients to discuss the financial performance of their properties and respond to accounting questions. - Responsible for the accuracy of financial statements prepared by a team of accountants. - Supervises the accounting team in reviewing rent rolls, reconciling bank statements and monitoring monthly operating results against budget. - Coordinate with operational team members to prepare and approve financial budgets for each property. - Coordinate with the Controller and CFO and other Assistant Controllers to establish and implement short/long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. - Participate in the hiring process and annual performance reviews for a team of Senior Accountants, Accountants, and Junior Accountants. - Manage efficiency and make staffing recommendations in order to meet expected performance metrics. - Support a team of Assistant Controllers in responding to financial audit requests and provide recommendations for procedural improvements. - Travel Requirement: This position does not require travel. Qualifications - Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance - CPA Eligible or CPA Preferred - Previous 3rd party multi-family property management experience - Previous experience leading or managing a team of accountants - Excellent critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills - Deep understanding of financial concepts - Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills - Proven organizational skills with attention to detail Requirements This job description should not be considered all-inclusive.
