Responsibilities ·       Conduct electrical design reviews of non-standard winding specifications. ·       Design and review custom configurations, including winding/coil designs, electrical clearances, fuse coordination, and electrical material substitutions. ·       Interface with customers on local and industry specifications, participate in industrial committees and technical events as needed. ·       Provide knowledge and compliance evaluation to industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, DOE Efficiency, CSA, and IEC. ·       Lead R&D efforts, drive product improvement, and support cost reduction initiatives. ·       Coordinate with manufacturing to resolve process issues and ensure product quality. ·       Collaborate with quality control to troubleshoot issues and determine root causes of failures. ·       Assist in training new design engineers on criteria and internal tools and programs.

Job Requirements

  • Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering
  • Expertise in single and three-phase distribution transformers, including overhead pole-mount, padmount, submersible/vault type, and large power transformers (5MVA and below).
  • Transformer coil design and protection for medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) applications.
  • Electrical evaluation of core, coil, and insulation materials.
  • Electrical testing of transformer coils and assemblies.
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidEdge.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., INFOR).
  • Use of simulation software for electromagnetic field analysis (e.g., Faraday 3D / Electro 2D, or similar).
