Job Description

Forward Deployed Full-Stack Developer

Tribe AI

About Tribe AI: At Tribe, we’re on a mission to help enterprises realize the value of AI for their business. Every large enterprise wants to use AI to transform how they operate — but many don’t have the capabilities to do it. That gap is our opportunity. We’re an AI-native services company that helps enterprises build and deploy best-in-class AI products that deliver real business impact. We partner closely with OpenAI and Anthropic, giving us rare visibility into the most advanced models, roadmaps, and GTM strategies in the world. ‍ About the Role We're looking for a Forward-Deployed Full-Stack Developer with strong front-end instincts to bring AI-first products to life. You’ll partner with forward-deployed PMs, AI Engineers, and client teams, translating AI capabilities into responsive, production-ready interfaces supported by lightweight, reliable backends. This role requires someone who can parachute into projects, quickly stand up UI and API scaffolding, and then refine and polish the experience as it moves toward production. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, defining interaction patterns for AI workflows that don’t have clear conventions yet, and making pragmatic technical choices under time constraints. You’ll collaborate closely with designers, PMs, and architects to shape end-to-end experiences — from early prototypes and internal demos to stable, client-facing applications. This role is equal parts craft and practicality: you’ll sweat interaction details while ensuring the stack is maintainable, performant, and ready for real users. ‍ Key Responsibilities: Product Engineering & Delivery - Build responsive, accessible interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Next.js) that showcase AI features clearly. - Stand up and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations needed to support prototypes and early production. - Translate user flows and design specs into clean, modular, well-documented code. - Manage data fetching, model calls, and state with attention to latency, error handling, and resilience. - Help evolve prototypes into production-ready experiences with appropriate tests, logging, and performance tuning. Collaboration & Strategy - Work closely with designers to refine flows, interaction patterns, and component behavior. - Partner with AI Engineers to integrate model endpoints, define contracts, and debug integration issues. - Support discovery and workshops by quickly prototyping end-to-end flows that make AI concepts tangible. - Communicate trade-offs and implementation options clearly to PMs and client stakeholders. - Contribute to internal templates, component libraries, and coding standards that improve speed and consistency. ‍ About You: - 5+ years building digital products, with a portfolio that highlights strong front-end craft and shipped applications. - Proficiency with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern styling approaches (e.g., CSS-in-JS, Tailwind). - Comfortable building and integrating REST/GraphQL APIs using Node.js or Python; experience with cloud or serverless is a plus. - Familiarity with AI/LLM integrations or a strong interest in working with AI-driven products. - Strong understanding of accessibility, performance, and responsive behavior across devices. - Effective collaborator who’s comfortable working with designers, PMs, and engineers in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. - Bonus: Experience with real-time interfaces, observability tooling, or production deployments for AI/ML products.
