Description Project Team Leadership & Management o Cultivate and manage highly functional teams comprised of SharePoint Consultants and SharePoint Developers through all phases of the delivery lifecycle. o Facilitate team project syncs, remove blockers, and communicate effectively to maximize productivity and maintain a high level of team satisfaction. o Perform capacity planning in advance to ensure all team members are fully utilized, with no gaps in schedules or lulls in productivity. Project Planning & Execution o Lead the creation and execution of project plans, including milestone planning from kickoff to go-live, while addressing delays and implementing corrective actions as necessary. o Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects, including deliverables, estimates, financials, and schedules, to ensure projects stay on track and within budget. o Maintain ownership of client satisfaction, company profitability, and project team workload. Scope & Change Management o Ensure alignment with clients on project scope, timelines, and budgets. o Perform impact analysis for scope change requests and document changes and prepare change orders for client approval. o Communicate realistic timelines and manage expectations as changes or delays occur. Process & Methodology Expertise o Apply expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) to adapt and enforce the company’s unique delivery process effectively. o Facilitate clear and effective communication about project status, risks, and changes in scope. o Drive continuous improvement in project management practices and team workflows. Quality Assurance & Risk Mitigation o Monitor project progress and assess risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed to ensure successful outcomes. o Uphold high-quality standards for all deliverables, ensuring they meet or exceed client expectations. Operational Efficiency o Ensure team members log time weekly and appropriately to maximize billable hours and utilization rates. o Review invoices for accuracy before sending to clients and coordinate adjustments with Finance as necessary. Communication & Reporting o Provide clear, consistent updates to stakeholders on project status, risks, milestones, and scope changes. o Serve as the client’s go-to contact for requirements gathering, solutioning, or development, while ensuring cross-functional collaboration between all involved teams. o Ensure timely signoffs at key project stages to maintain workflow and financial alignment. o Ensure PMs deliver high-quality project updates, reports, and risk assessments for leadership and clients. Process Improvement o Establish and refine project management methodologies, ensuring consistency across projects. o Define and enforce project management standards, tools, and documentation requirements. o Contribute to business strategy by identifying trends in project execution and recommending improvements. Technical projects are typically of 3 types: 1) projects leading to the development of new revenue producing products for cable and wireline businesses, 2) projects which seek to reduce operational expenses or control/improve access to key business data and 3) projects which deliver major application or network infrastructure upgrades. Projects include, but are not limited to, software package selection and implementation, custom software development, assisting in contract negotiation for the procurement of software, vendor implementation services, process improvement efforts, or contract consulting services. As a very experienced technical project manager, this position leads large teams and manages projects having sizeable risk, scope and complexity with autonomy and independence. Responsibilities - Ensure that project activities and work products are in compliance with company development policies, procedures, and standards. Prepare work plans for product deliverables, manage human and fiscal resources, effectively negotiate timelines, scope, and cost constraints with project sponsors to attain project goals, oversee completion of tasks, provide status and completion reports to management, and administer the vendor contracts for the project. - Establish, grow, and maintain professional business relationships with internal sponsors and project stakeholders, other support teams within the company, and external product and service vendors. - Prepare cost benefit studies for proposed projects consistent with business goals and financial constraints using the appropriate financial analysis tools. Develop and maintain business cases for projects and complete the business value realization report at project completion. Establish project budgets, cost tracking mechanisms, processes for release of funds, and financial reporting for project sponsors and stakeholders. Take correction action as required to reduce financial risks and mitigate potential budget-related problems. - Ensure successful adoption of project deliverables and the necessary business process changes through effective best-practice organizational change management practices. - Lead project communication (e.g. written, verbal, social media, etc.) to appropriately engage and inform project sponsors and stakeholders on project performance and progress.
