Senior Quality Engineer
Bestow
• Champion and institutionalize practices such as Definition of Ready, Example Mapping, Specification by Example, and Spec-Driven Development. • Actively contribute to API and UI automation disciplines. • Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Technical Program Management, Customer Success, and the Senior Manager of Quality Engineering to establish foundational behaviors that enable long-term quality maturity, automation excellence, regulatory traceability, and future AI-enablement. • Lead and facilitate Definition of Ready (DoR) workshops. • Conduct Example Mapping and Specification by Example sessions. • Convert ambiguous requirements into structured, testable specifications. • Establish shared vocabulary and ubiquitous language across teams. • Create reusable facilitation templates, examples, and playbooks. • Coach Product Managers and Engineers on behavior-focused acceptance criteria. • Embed Spec-Driven Development (SSD) practices within backlog refinement workflows. • Design and implement API test strategies aligned to structured specifications. • Contribute to RESTful API testing using contract validation and schema enforcement. • Improve test data management and environment stability practices. • Ensure requirements-to-test traceability (RTM) is maintained and auditable. • Advocate for deterministic, parallelizable, locally executable tests.
Job Requirements
- 6+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering roles.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating structured requirements practices (DoR, Example Mapping, BDD, or Specification by Example).
- Strong API testing expertise (REST, schema validation, contract testing).
- Proficient in UI automation disciplines.
- Experience contributing to test framework architecture or shared utilities.
- Clear understanding of CI/CD validation workflows.
- Experience maintaining requirements-to-test traceability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Coaching and facilitation expertise.
- Ability to influence without formal authority.
- Systems-thinking mindset.
- History of progressively expanded responsibility.
