Job Description Summary As a member of the Avionics Business Capture team, the Senior Sales Director will lead GE Aerospace’s strategic pursuit of avionics content on Next-generation narrow body aircraft platforms. This role will serve as the central leader responsible for developing and executing the long-term capture strategy across multiple aircraft OEM opportunities. This position is dedicated to shaping and winning long-cycle strategic aircraft programs that will define avionics content for decades. The Senior Sales Director will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, product management, programs, and executive leadership to position GE Aerospace avionics technologies for selection on future aircraft architectures. The role requires a leader capable of influencing early aircraft system architecture decisions, aligning internal product roadmaps with OEM requirements, and managing complex multi-year capture efforts across multiple stakeholders. Note: The preferred location for this role is at the Grand Rapids, Michigan headquarters, but remote work within the United States may be considered based on candidate qualifications. Job Description Senior Sales Director Commercial Next Generation Narrow Body - Avionics Capture Roles and Responsibilities: Strategic Capture Leadership - Lead the overall capture strategy for avionics content on next generation narrow body aircraft platforms. - Develop and maintain a multi-year campaign strategy aligned with aircraft OEM development timelines. - Identify priority avionics system opportunities including, but not limited to, flight management systems, computing architectures, networking, health monitoring, recorders and software based applications. - Establish the overall win strategy and value proposition for GE Aerospace avionics solutions. OEM Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with aircraft OEM engineering, program, and executive leadership. - Influence aircraft system architecture decisions early in development cycles. - Lead coordinated customer engagement strategies across technical, program, and executive levels. - Represent GE Aerospace avionics capabilities in strategic discussions with aircraft manufacturers. Cross Functional Leadership - Lead a cross-functional integrated capture team including engineering, product line leadership, programs, finance, and strategy. - Align internal stakeholders on technology investments, product roadmaps, and pursuit priorities. - Coordinate across multiple avionics product lines to ensure a cohesive offering to aircraft OEMs. - Drive internal decision making on pursuit priorities and resource allocation. Opportunity Development - Identify emerging aircraft platform opportunities and assess GE Aerospace competitive positioning. - Develop differentiated value propositions for integrated avionics systems. - Guide internal technology investments and demonstrations that strengthen the capture position. - Identify and evaluate potential partnerships that enhance solution capability. Capture Planning and Execution - Develop detailed capture plans including customer engagement strategies, competitive positioning, and internal milestones. - Lead internal capture reviews and executive briefings. - Oversee major proposal strategies and content development for avionics system selections. - Support negotiation strategies during aircraft system selection phases. Market and Competitive Intelligence - Monitor aircraft OEM roadmaps, industry trends, and competitor strategies. - Conduct competitive assessments across avionics suppliers and system integrators. - Provide strategic insights that inform avionics portfolio strategy and long-range planning. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. - Minimum of 8 years of experience in aerospace business development, sales, marketing, capture management, or program/account management. - Demonstrated experience supporting major aerospace platform pursuits or aircraft system selections (Preferably on the civil side). - Experience working directly with aircraft OEM customers. - Strong understanding of aircraft development cycles and supplier selection processes. - Proven ability to lead large cross-functional teams without direct authority. - Strong communication and executive presentation skills. - Ability to travel as required. - Legal authorization to work in the U.S : GE Aerospace will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
