Role Description We are seeking a results-driven Social Media expert with a proven track record of creating high quality content (video clips, graphics, copy) and driving growth across YouTube (including Shorts), LinkedIn, X, and Instagram, optimizing content with SEO best practices to reach target audiences: technical startup founders, potential startup talent, the startup ecosystem at large including investors, and sometimes specific tech sectors. This is a role for someone who loves storytelling, thinks in keywords, and is excited about growing a brand through relevance and credibility rather than volume. - Develop and execute high quality social media strategies that reach, engage and grow our target audience across platforms. - Produce, ideate, and optimize original social content (launch videos, founder podcast interviews, video clips, graphics, and copy) designed for platform algorithms and audience resonance. - Own social content calendar for planning and execution to maintain consistent posting. - Apply SEO (AEO) and keyword research to video titles, descriptions, tags, and web content to improve discoverability across search and platform recommendations. - Stay up to date with social platform algorithms, emerging trends, and best practices to maintain relevance and drive growth. - Experiment with organic growth tactics. - Track, analyze, and report on community engagement & performance metrics to inform strategies to increase followers and engagement. Qualifications - A track record for driving growth and engagement on LinkedIn, YouTube, and other social and professional platforms. - Demonstrated success with SEO optimization for social and web content. - Proven experience creating and promoting technical content in compelling & visual ways. - Editorial judgment and don’t rely blindly on AI-generated copy. - Take pride in clean execution and consistency. - Bring new ideas to the table for growth. Requirements - Light video capture skills for small events or creative social content ideas. - Experience posting and optimizing podcasts. Engagement Details - Freelance / Contract. - Part-time (estimated 20 hours per week). - Ongoing engagement. - Works with Head of Communications. - Remote US. - Monthly retainer (~$7-8K/month).
