Role Description We are seeking an experienced consultant to lead a high-priority transformation initiative at a mid-market company specializing in custom hardware development and manufacturing. This hands-on, results-oriented role focuses on designing and implementing a revamped Supply Chain Operating Model and Engineering Operations Framework. - Assess and redesign inventory management processes to resolve inaccuracies in Deltek Costpoint. - Recommend and support deployment of modern tools/technologies for real-time visibility. - Develop agile procurement strategies: frameworks for alternative sourcing, supplier diversification, rapid RFQ processes, and contingency planning. - Align supply chain operations to just-in-time principles while handling demand variability. - Lead change management efforts: train teams, document new SOPs, and establish governance. - Map, document, and digitize engineering workflows to establish standardized processes and SOPs. - Design and implement resource planning and capacity management systems. - Define and roll out performance KPIs and metrics. - Build visibility tools/dashboards for leadership to monitor engineering health. - Perform detailed assessments, stakeholder interviews, root-cause analysis, and solution roadmapping. - Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize quick wins and phased implementations. - Provide hands-on implementation support, including training, pilot testing, and post-go-live optimization. - Deliver regular progress reporting, risk mitigation, and demonstrations of measurable business impact. Position is virtual/remote. The selected candidate will procure and manage medium to high value and risk subcontracts, including long term agreements. Prepare bids, evaluate bids, select suppliers and negotiate price, terms and conditions, delivery, quality and service. Manage supplier performance from issuance of order through close-out. Interface with Supply Chain Management, Program Planners, Quality, Receiving and Program Management and Supplier's Management team. May mentor junior staff members. Candidates will perform subcontract management for multiple of the following categories: - Radio Frequency (RF), Command and Data Handling (C&DH) and Guidance Navigation Control (GNC) - Propulsion and Mechanical Services In this job, you will: - Review Purchase Requisitions for completeness and obtain additional information considered necessary. - Prepare Request for Quotation (RFQ)/Request for Proposal (RFP) and identify sources eligible to receive RFQ/RFP for complex and/or non-routine procurement requirements. - Evaluate suppliers' quotes/proposals for compliance with RFQ/RFP and fact find suppliers' proposals. - Perform a cost and/or price analysis to determine price reasonableness. - Negotiate with suppliers on price, schedule, and terms and conditions, and any other contractual requirements.
