This role ensures alignment between customer needs, product strategy, and technical execution by translating mission and business requirements into scalable architectures, repeatable solutions, and capability roadmaps. This position plays a critical role in shaping Sabel’s offerings, supporting pre-sales solutioning, and governing enterprise intellectual property, configuration baselines, and digital assets to ensure long-term integrity, reuse, and lifecycle management. You will be joining a dynamic and highly motivated team with one shared goal: “Get quality and secure solutions in the customers’ hands as soon as possible.” Work Location & Schedule This is a fully remote position open to candidates residing anywhere within the United States Candidates must be available to work Eastern Time Zone business hours Up to 25% travel may be required to support business objectives, customer engagements, and strategic initiatives What You’ll Do As a Solutions Engineer at Sabel Systems, you will: Strategic Digital Engineering & Open Architecture Leadership Lead applied digital engineering strategy across MBSE, digital thread/digital twin, and enterprise data interoperability Define and standardize scalable open architecture patterns aligned with Air Force frameworks such as Open Mission Systems Develop repeatable solution playbooks and architectural reference patterns that enable expansion across programs without brittle integrations Translate mission-thread needs, including operational, sustainment, and readiness priorities, into executable engineering and data use cases Air Force Acquisition & Enterprise PLM Domain Leadership Maintain expertise in Air Force enterprise PLM, configuration control, and authoritative data environments Ensure digital thread continuity across lifecycle phases, reinforcing expectations for data authority and governance Provide credible technical engagement with government engineers, integrators, and acquisition leadership Product Strategy & Growth Enablement Conduct strategic market research and competitive assessments to inform product vision and offering strategy Partner with the Chief Product Officer and business units to define value propositions and roadmap alignment Support pre-sales solutioning, customer discovery, proposal development, and executive briefings Translate market and customer needs into functional requirements and architectural roadmaps Produce technical papers, business cases, and executive decision support materials Enterprise Configuration Management & IP Governance Govern Sabel intellectual property lifecycle, including creation, baseline management, change control, release, and archival Establish and enforce enterprise configuration management standards, versioning practices, and release control processes Maintain secure repositories, digital asset inventories, and compliance with governance and audit requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related technical field Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, business architecture, or product strategy roles Experience supporting DoD digital engineering initiatives, PLM, MBSE, enterprise integration, or acquisition programs Experience architecting enterprise-scale solutions and developing repeatable offerings Experience supporting pre-sales solutioning, proposal development, and customer technical engagements Experience with configuration management and repository tools such as Git, SharePoint, PLM platforms, Nexus, Sonatype, Grafana, or similar Experience governing configuration baselines, change control processes, and digital asset lifecycle management Experience developing architecture roadmaps, technical baselines, and capability strategies Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, and governance activities in regulated environments Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefings U.S. Citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field Experience supporting DoD Digital Engineering Strategy initiatives Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, or similar Experience supporting product management, product development, or digital product lines Experience supporting Air Force or other DoD acquisition environments CM-related certifications (CMII, CMPIC) or process frameworks (CMMI, AS9100, ISO 9001) Our Core Values Bias for Action: Decisive. Compensation will be determined in partnership with the Hiring Manager and may vary based on factors such as contract and labor category alignment, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications or licenses, and geographic location.
