Job Duties: Develop new features for and improve the quality of The Trade Desk’s real-time bidding software. Design, build, deliver, and own full lifecycle development software from inception to production. Drive complex changes involving multiple components across our bidding infrastructure. Deliver quality changes, including automated tests, metrics, and monitoring. Validate changes in The Trade Desk’s bidding software as part of a regular release process. Understand system architecture fundamentals through self-directed learning. Participate in hiring activities and mentorship within the team. Participate in the interview hiring process by conducting pre-selected technical interview questions and sharing results with the hiring manager. Collaborate in code review and design review of fellow software engineers. Position does not involve supervisory or managerial responsibilities or planning or assigning work to other employees. Salary: $151,400 - $227,000/year Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field. Position requires working knowledge of the following skills gained through coursework or experience: soft real-time distributed systems; one or more of the following programming languages: C#, Java, C, C++; software development code editors with one more of the following: Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Rider, and version control systems (Git, Perforce); working in large scale code bases with ambiguous goals and multiple stakeholders; operating systems fundamentals; profiling and analyzing memory dumps to optimize latency sensitive systems; and using SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL, or a similar RDBMS in a performance-sensitive context. #DNI #LI-DNS CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC residents only: In accordance with CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as variable compensation-based incentives and commissions. About the role: Code for America software engineers are involved in every stage of our products’ lifecycle, from prototyping and design, to developing features in response to user feedback, to operating technical systems at scale. As a software engineer at Lightyear, you will work directly with our CTO and VP of Product to build the core components of Lightyear’s IT automation software, helping us design a robust set of engineering standards in the process.
