• Own the architecture of our governance domain end-to-end (authentication, roles and permissions, organizations, groups, billing) and drive its modernization for scale, security, and extensibility • Lead the refactoring of foundational backend systems toward an AI-native architecture, ensuring they support composable, customizable workflows for enterprise customers • Set technical direction for authentication, authorization, and organizational modeling, balancing immediate hardening with long-term platform thinking • The governance domain will not be the only area you work in going forward, however it is the area we need to invest in right now with strong technical leadership • Partner with product and engineering leadership to translate enterprise requirements (CMOs, marketing admins, FDEs) into scalable platform capabilities • Mentor and elevate the engineering team, raising the bar on backend practices, code quality, and architectural rigor • Operate hands-on 70–80% of the time, writing and reviewing critical-path code while providing technical leadership

• Collaborate closely with sales leaders and account teams to identify a value delivery strategy for key accounts. • Engage with top prospects to identify, understand, and quantify their unique challenges and potential benefits with dbt. • Define and communicate the dbt Labs value proposition in alignment with customer objectives. • Lead business value reviews / business cases: Effectively communicate the realized business impacts and potential economic benefits of new opportunities. • Conduct thorough analysis of customer workflows and processes, identifying opportunities for optimization and increased efficiency. • Create and deliver boardroom-quality, executive presentations. Work collaboratively with product and engineering teams to tailor solutions to meet the specific needs of our champions and key stakeholders • Partner with dbt leadership to build new value based GTM motions to more effectively prove product value and grow deal sizes. • Provide guidance on best practices and innovative approaches to maximize the value of dbt Labs solutions • Conduct training and workshops in conjunction with dbt Labs enablement to increase the quality of their discovery and their understanding of business value & customer excellence. • Build scalable programs and tools to support value selling across all parts of the GTM ecosystem, including Pre-Sale teams, Professional Services, and Marketing. • Help build the future of the value engineering practice at dbt Labs: contribute to the development of best practices and tools for enhanced value-based selling adoption.

• Lead engineering efforts across multiple client engagements from discovery through launch and long-term maintenance. • Architect scalable, maintainable, and secure technical solutions aligned with client goals and business requirements. • Build custom web applications, websites, APIs, integrations, and CMS implementations using appropriate technologies. • Collaborate closely with designers, strategists, project managers, and QA throughout the project lifecycle. • Produce, maintain, debug, optimize, and extend applications and user interfaces. • Establish and maintain local development environments using version managers, containerization, and modern development tooling. • Configure and execute deployment workflows across development, staging, and production environments. • Ensure work meets agency standards for accessibility, performance, security, maintainability, and documentation. • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities early, communicating tradeoffs and recommendations throughout delivery. • Participate in ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of launched client projects.

• Work closely with our hardware and software product teams to ensure our products are designed and engineered to deliver a best-in-class web experience for our gamers. • Get up to speed with our tech stack. Our new web application is written in React and deployed in AWS using containers. • Ship a new feature in our cloud platform. • Evaluate the architecture of our cloud platform, suggest potential areas for refactoring, and work with product management and engineering to plan any desired changes. • Assist product in defining the quarterly roadmap of work for the cloud platform team. • Continue to innovate and add features to our web-based experiences for gamers. • Play with and give feedback on unannounced hardware products coming out next year. • Work closely with our hardware and software product teams to align on the vision for our upcoming products. • Help define hardware and web APIs to ensure our apps can seamlessly interact with our hardware and cloud services to provide an amazing user experience for our customers. • Proactively refactor code to achieve a perpetually clean design that has adequate test coverage. • Evaluate new programming languages, frameworks, and tools and propose when they should be integrated and/or migrated to. • Work across software teams to educate others on best practices for code, test, and documentation quality.
