Role Description The Marine Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales performance across the US/ Canadian marine sector, focusing on new builds, retrofits, lifecycle services, and agreements. This role will join an existing team and contribute to expanding market presence, building strong customer relationships, and supporting the strategic growth of Wärtsilä's marine solutions. Role Description As a Field Service Superintendent – Energy, you will lead and execute complex mechanical field service activities according to the agreed work plan. This includes major repairs, overhauls, and troubleshooting of reciprocating internal combustion engines (RICE) and their auxiliary systems at customer power plants. You will act as the senior technical authority on-site, taking ownership of mechanical execution, technical decision-making, and customer-facing discussions. In addition, you will support New Build and Commissioning teams, contribute to technical reporting and analysis, and ensure that all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with Wärtsilä quality standards. This position reports to the Field Service Coordinator – Energy. Responsibilities: - Lead and execute major mechanical overhauls, including full engine disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of 4-stroke reciprocating engines and auxiliary equipment. - Perform complex and advanced troubleshooting of mechanical and operational issues at customer power plants, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions. - Act as Superintendent for complex service projects, leading on-site execution and coordinating Service Engineers, Technicians, and other field resources. - Serve as the main technical point of contact for customers during service execution, leading technical discussions and managing expectations. - Prepare detailed Service Work Reports, including findings, analysis, conclusions, and technical recommendations. - Provide internal and external progress updates on assigned work and follow up on work order status. - Support New Build and Commissioning activities as required, ensuring smooth transition from installation to operation. - Ensure all work is executed in compliance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) guidelines and customer site procedures. - Proactively identify improvement opportunities and apply best practices to enhance service execution. - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
