JOB DESCRIPTION We are currently seeking an engaged, energetic and highly-motivated Sr. Strategic Account Manager to join our Strategic Accounts team. The Sr. Strategic Account Manager is responsible for retaining and further developing existing customer relationships through maintaining and selling Vertafore products and services into Vertafore Strategic accounts. The Director, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) will lead reliability, performance, and observability initiatives for a portfolio of Vertafore products. This role owns SLIs/SLOs, incident response, automation, and CI/CD practices for assigned product families. Directors will manage multiple teams and collaborate with Product Development, Architecture, Cloud Operations, Information Security, and other SRE leaders to ensure operational excellence. This role is responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration. You will own the lifecycle of services - from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement. Key Responsibilities• Product Reliability Leadership o Define and enforce SLIs/SLOs for a subset of Vertafore flagship products. o Drive observability strategy across application and infrastructure layers.• Release Engineering & Toil Reduction o Oversee CI/CD pipelines for product deployments using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, LaunchDarkly. o Monitor and cap "Toil" (manual, repetitive operational work) at 50% using Automation and AI tools, ensuring the team spends the remaining time on project work that scales the system.• Error Budget Management o Manage "Error Budgets" to balance the velocity of feature releases with the stability of the platform, ensuring clear consequences when budgets are exhausted.• Incident Management o Define and participate in 24x7 on-call rotations for assigned products; ensure rapid resolution and blameless postmortems.• Cross-Functional Collaboration o Partner with Cloud Ops on capacity planning, OS patching (app tier), and load balancing (ALB, F5). o Align reliability goals with product roadmaps and customer SLAs.• Team Leadership o Manage a group of Managers and Engineers, mentor teams on automation, observability, and reliability best practices. This role is accountable for the full-service lifecycle, from design and deployment readiness through production operations, incident response, and continuous improvement. Reliability is a core engineering responsibility, requiring strong software engineering skills and autonomous operation across AWS, hybrid data centers, and customer-hosted environments. Roles and Responsibilities: - Own production services end to end. Accountable for reliability, availability, scalability, performance, and operational health. - Define and manage SLIs and SLOs, using error budgets to guide delivery decisions. - Influence of service and system design to improve fault tolerance, observability and operational sustainability. - Debug complex production issues across application code, services and infrastructure using software engineering practices. - Perform root cause analysis using logs, metrics, traces, and code-level investigation. - Build automation and self-healing mechanisms to prevent repeat failures. - Execute production changes (patching, certificate management, software releases) with safety, automation, and observability. - Design and operate production observability aligned to service health and customer impact. - Lead and participate in incident response, for high-severity events. - Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and operations teams. - Operate with autonomy and sound judgment in reliability decisions. Qualifications & Requirements - 8+ years of hands-on Site Reliability Engineering or reliability-focused engineering experience with end-to-end service ownership. - Proven operation at a senior engineering scope with accountability for reliability outcomes. - Strong software engineering skills in C#, .NET, Java, Python, React, or similar technologies. - Practical experience applying SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets). - Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and hybrid environments. - Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows systems, application platforms and relational databases. - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent experience. - Participation in an on-call rotation; flexible hours as required. Design, build, and scale enterprise Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and CPQ. Serve as the senior technical authority for Salesforce architecture, integrations, and release management. Lead AI-enabled development practices including the use of AI-assisted coding tools and Salesforce AI capabilities such as Agentforce. Mentor and support a junior Salesforce developer while promoting engineering excellence and platform scalability. Core Requirements and Responsibilities:• Design and implement scalable Salesforce solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.• Develop and maintain Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and APIs.• Lead solution design for complex cross-functional initiatives and integrations (e.g., Celigo, NetSuite, Workday).• Serve as technical authority for issue resolution, design reviews, and best practices.• Own technical aspects of release cycles including CI/CD, testing, and deployment governance.• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Github Copilot) to improve development velocity and quality.• Provie expertise, support and implement Salesforce AI use cases, including Agentforce and predictive capabilities.• Mentor junior Salesforce developer(s) through code reviews, design guidance, and skills development.• Work closely with other developers on the Enterprise Apps (EA) team to promote best practices and learning.• Champion Salesforce governance, security, documentation, and DevOps maturity.• Provide consultative guidance to business stakeholders on platform capabilities and scalable automation.• Work with stakeholders to understand needs and pain points in order to help Salesforce users work more efficiently. Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field (or equivalent experience).• 6+ years of enterprise Salesforce development experience.• Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I required; Platform Developer II and Salesforce Certified AI/Agentforce Associate or Specialist preferred.• Strong expertise in Apex, LWC, Flows, REST/SOAP APIs, and Salesforce security model.• Experience with Sales Cloud and/or Service Cloud required; Experience Cloud and CPQ preferred.• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted development tools and exposure to Salesforce AI (e.g., Agentforce, Einstein).• Experience with enterprise integrations and middleware.• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps best practices.
