What You’ll Do: The SBA Business Development Officer is responsible for generating new business opportunities for the VelocitySBA Franchise Division. This includes building and maintaining relationships with franchisors, franchise brokers, and prospective franchisees. The primary goal is to drive growth by securing financing deals within the franchise sector. Job Duties & Responsibilities: - Generate viable SBA 7(a) loan opportunities via external direct and indirect marketing channels and meet annual loan volume and pricing targets. - Establish and maintain direct relationships with Franchisors and Franchise Aggregators and Referral Sources. - Manage loan workflow, financial analysis and closing requirements. - Determine 7(a) loan eligibility under SBA SOP and general prudent lending practices. - Responsible to prepare and deliver accurate loan applications and loan prescreen form. - Update pipeline report and attend weekly pipeline meeting attended by the senior leadership team including the President, Sales Manager, Chief Credit Officer, Credit Administrator, Operation Manager and Closing/Documentation Manager. - Collaborate with Credit and Closing teams to efficiently process transactions. - Ensure all loan requests are compliant to the policies and procedures of VelocitySBA. - Manage new and existing 3rd party loan agents and ensure the agents meet VelocitySBA standards. - Responsible for working with multiple parties to ensure information is obtained/received at various stages throughout the loan process, and assisting with ordering appraisals and environmental reports, as applicable. - Oversee multiple transactions concurrently to ensure all active loan applications are moving forward and current status is reported on the Pipeline Report. - Maintain a working knowledge of VelocitySBA’s written policies and procedures regarding Regulation B, Bank Secrecy Act, Bank Security and all other regulations applicable to this job description. - Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters VelocitySBA corporate culture in all actions and words. - Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate. - Embraces all goals and objectives of VelocitySBA. - May perform other duties as assigned.
