Role Description Trust Payments has an exciting opportunity for a QA Engineer to join their team. This role is predominantly remote, however occasional travel to our technology headquarters in Bangor, UK will be required. In this role, you will: - Develop and maintain automated tests for both services and UI using tools such as Selenium and Cucumber, following a BDD framework. - Apply a solid understanding of design principles to write clean, maintainable test code in Java or Python, whilst contributing to a CI/CD pipeline environment. - Work closely with the test manager and project teams to develop and maintain automated functional and regression tests in line with defined scripting standards. - Apply a thorough understanding of testing concepts, methodologies, and processes across the full software product development lifecycle. - Raise and manage defects clearly and efficiently using tools such as Jira to ensure quality is maintained throughout delivery. What We Expect of You, Day To Day: - Maintain and improve the automated test framework. - Create new automated tests and investigate test failures. - Write automated tests following the BDD framework and contribute input to developers for unit-level tests. - Investigate defects reported by stakeholders and end users, supporting the team to identify root causes and appropriate fixes. - Perform manual and exploratory testing against new features. - Attend team retrospectives and workshops to support continual improvement. - Define and add new test cases into different automated test packs, capturing test results and defects. - Understand requirements and testing processes to define test plans with continuous review of scope. - Provide test estimations and a clear testing approach to the Product Owner and team. Qualifications - A positive, enthusiastic approach with a genuine interest in quality engineering. - Comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team, with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues' growth. - 5 or more years of overall testing experience. - Experience in API testing frameworks such as REST Assured. - Experience in programming languages (Java or Python) – minimum 5 years. - Experience using Cucumber or Behave to write test cases in feature files using Gherkin language – 3 to 5 years. - Familiarity with CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab Pipelines) from a testing configuration perspective. - A methodical approach to problem-solving, with attention to thoroughness and detail. - A collaborative mindset with an enjoyment of sharing expertise and learning from others. • Seek new prospective merchants and introducers proactively, promoting the benefits of Trust Payments' range of products and services • Identify key challenges for merchants and partners and offer solutions by applying the correct range of products and services, whilst sustaining profitable terms • Use existing industry networks within Travel& Hospitality including ticketing, short-term rentals and financial services to generate qualified opportunities • Navigate complex regulatory requirements and position Trust Payments' solutions accordingly • Develop and maintain deep vertical expertise in target industries, staying current with market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape • Qualify opportunities based on profitability potential, risk profile, and strategic fit • Build business cases and ROI models demonstrating value proposition to prospects • Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with full support available from Line Manager and Department Director • Manage onboarding and the initial after care of your new customers, until ready to be migrated to an Account Manager • Work closely with product, project management and marketing to create a value proposition for Trust products and solutions • Regularly update our CRM system for the purpose of accurate reporting, forecasting and pipeline management • Represent our business at trade events where required
