Who you are Trilogy Innovations is seeking Mid-Level Software Developers to provide remote support for a federal customer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, collaborative team and contribute to a multi-year initiative focused on modernizing large-scale, mission-critical IT systems. Ideal candidates are motivated technologists who thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to make a meaningful impact on high-visibility federal projects while working in a fully remote setting. This role requires at least a Secret Security Clearance, and primary work location is remote. On-Call Expectations: To support critical system needs, this role participates in a rotating on-call schedule for one week out of every four. During your on-call week, you’ll be part of a responsive support team that helps ensure system reliability and continuity. - Acknowledge on-call contacts (phone, text, or email) within 15 minutes - Remain within reasonable access to your secure work laptop while on call - Log in and begin assessing or troubleshooting requests within 60 minutes of notification The on-call rotation is structured to provide balance while ensuring our federal partners receive timely, dependable support when it matters most. What you will do: - Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. - Design, build, and maintain microservices in a cloud native architecture. - Operate and support an enterprise scale production system; identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues. - Analyze user needs to develop robust software solutions aligned with business and mission goals. - Analyze, design, and optimize relational and NoSQL databases within application ecosystems. - Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring of junior developers to promote engineering excellence. - Collaborate with cross functional teams including DevOps, QA, Security, Product, and Architecture. High-level objectives include, but are not limited to the following: - Migrate all current-system functionality from the mainframes and operate within a cloud-based environment (AWS GovCloud). - Transition investigative search capabilities to Elasticsearch or similar technologies to improve speed and analytical capabilities for law enforcement users. - Build new microservices using OpenShift based container platforms following scalable, cloud native patterns. - Implement full stack components where applicable, supporting UI integration layers using modern JavaScript frameworks. - Support integration with event driven architectures and high throughput data processing systems. Who you are The Program Transition & Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring continuity, readiness, and visibility across the contract lifecycle—from proposal submission through transition and into steady-state operations. This role sits between Growth and Delivery, with a primary focus on the transition from awarded work to executable programs. The Lead ensures that contracts, staffing, systems, and operational requirements are in place prior to contract start, and that risks and gaps are identified and addressed early. Integration and CI/CD - Integrate AAP with Git/GitLab, GitLab CI / Jenkins / Bamboo pipelines, Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management, and ticketing systems. - Develop Molecule test suites and automated linting (ansible-lint, yamllint) to support a CI-driven content lifecycle. Day-2 Operations and Compliance - Author automation for STIG remediation, patching, certificate lifecycle, and routine day-2 operations. - Partner with the Team Lead and Security Engineer on compliance-as-code and audit evidence collection. Team Enablement - Mentor engineers and run periodic office hours and training to grow team automation capability. - Document patterns, anti-patterns, and reference implementations for the broader team. You will be successful if you: - Develop and implement a clear automation strategy aligned to program milestones - Build reusable, well-documented Ansible content adopted across the team - Successfully deploy and integrate AAP with enterprise tools and CI/CD pipelines - Deliver automation for patching, compliance, and day-2 operations - Improve system consistency, speed, and reliability through automation - Support compliance and contribute to audit readiness - Mentor team members and increase overall automation maturity What you Bring We require: - Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience accepted. - Minimum 7 years of IT engineering experience, including 3+ years dedicated to Ansible-based automation at enterprise scale. - Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) AND a current Red Hat Ansible certification (per BPA-26-RFP-5852 staffing requirements). Acceptable Ansible certifications include Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation, Specialist in Managing Automation with AAP, or Specialist in Developing Automation with AAP. - Expert-level Ansible Automation Platform engineering: roles, collections, dynamic inventory, Vault, execution environments, and workflow templates. - Strong RHEL administration foundation; ability to write idempotent automation against complex systems. - Proficiency with Git, GitLab/GitHub, branching strategies, and at least one CI/CD platform (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bamboo). - Working knowledge of Python; comfort writing custom Ansible modules or filter plugins as needed. - Experience integrating Ansible with Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (FreeIPA/IdM/Keycloak), and PKI tooling (OpenSSL, Dogtag). - Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix) for automation telemetry. - Ability to obtain a DOE Security Badge and successfully adjudicate an NBIS eApp background investigation prior to start.
