How you will make history here... As a member of the Campbell Snacks Category Management Team, the Category Manager, Convenience will be responsible for accelerating strategic and tactical thought leadership for our convenience channel customers. This person will be responsible for leading and executing against team growth objectives, partner on category reviews, monthly performance tracking, and be the trusted advisor for retailers. This person will partner with key retailer decision makers aligning on priorities, insight needs and whitespace identification to drive Campbell Snacks strategic retailer partnerships forward. This person will use point-of-sale, loyalty and shopper data to create clear actionable category recommendations. This role will focus across all Campbell Snacks products and categories. This role is fully remote. Preferred geography is Central or Eastern Time Zones. What you will do... - Proactively develop collaborative relationships with our retail partners to be viewed as a trusted resource for category insights and objective growth opportunities - Actively advise Retailers partners on category and shopper centric opportunities to grow market share - Leads the development of category strategy and assists customer with integrated category strategy development - Leads strategic and tactical recommendations on the Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising and Pricing (DSMP) goals to improve overall category performance. - Responsible for developing customer specific presentation of relevant consumer insights, competitive responses, and new item/category selling strategies. - Actively lead and participate in preparation of line reviews and reoccurring customer category reviews, JBP plans, and Top to Top meetings. - Lead comprehensive understanding of plan-o-gram insights and assortment to help identify and drive strategic sales opportunities and customer growth objectives. - Develops strong working relationships with category leadership, buyers, and cross functional departments. - Provides distribution forecast on managed accounts as input into Campbell Snacks IBP cycle - Category Manager, Convenience will work with buyers, insights teams, and senior leaders with the goal of driving strategic category direction. This role will require professionalism, executive presence, ability to balance customer/Campbells daily. Who you will work with... (Must have) - Bachelor's Degree required - 4+ years' experience in Category Management or data analytics role in the CPG industry - 1-3+ years IRI or Nielsen syndicated data experience - Excellent analytical skills and attention to details - Robust communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to think strategically - Problem Solving & Analytical Ability - Strong technical skills (ProSpace, Excel, Power BI, etc.) - POG software (Blue Yonder) and experience with loyalty models It would be great if you have... Responsible for proactively managing, monitoring, evaluating, and updating the overall business plan to meet all volume, profit and share objectives. In addition, incumbent is responsible for implementing our brand strategies and tactics with customers by working closely with key decision makers and utilizing category management initiatives to drive customer decision making. The Associate Customer Sales Lead's primary focus is to grow net sales, profit and market share across the Campbell's Snacks brand portfolio across a variety of snacking categories. In addition, the Assoc. CSL is responsible for implementing Campbell brand strategies and tactics by working closely with key decision makers, utilizing consumer insights and category management to drive key initiatives. This role will work hand in hand with the Campbell's Direct Store Delivery (DSD) selling and delivery operations team to ensure best in class execution occurs in market. The position will require strong cross-functional leadership, financial acumen, customer interface skills, and strategic agility capabilities. The ability to manage in complex situations and boil down to simple interpretation and action steps is critical. This role is fully remote. Must reside in the Northern CA geography. What you will do... - Lead the integrated growth planning process and annual strategic plan with Save Mart, Food Max, Associated Foods Stores, C&S West, and URM. - Manage supplier relationships on assigned categories. - Utilize the sales planning tool and customer investment system to create optimal customer plans. - Develop and implement trade promotion strategies and tactical plans with the customer - Works closely with our DSD Field Sales Organization and Independent Operators to win with our customer in the marketplace. - Conduct post event analysis to evaluate promotional volume, consumption, profit and spending results versus plan and leverage findings to maximize future promotional opportunities. - Monitor and manage deduction balances and conduct post audits. - Leverage shelf solutions to drive retail availability and additional product placements in store. - Conduct category business reviews, leveraging loyalty and syndicated data, to discuss the state of the business, consumer trends, key business drivers, incremental opportunities, etc. - Leverage Category Management resources and loyalty data appropriately. - Knowledgeable of Campbell brand strategies and tactics and implements by working closely with the customer's key decision makers which include buyers, category managers, and merchandising leaders. - Utilize sound category management practices to proactively link consumer and shopper trends and opportunities. - Lead the customer in the execution of category assessments. - Develop and lead accurate monthly forecasts in order to maximize supply chain efficiencies by tracking shipments, consumption data and inventory changes for the entire team. Proactively identify potential risks or threats to monthly forecasts. - Sell in new items to the customer and work with key customer personnel to achieve optimal distribution. - Leverage Customer Marketing resources to develop and implement collaborative marketing programs in alignment with brand and customer strategies and track and monitor progress of new item and initiative development. - Identify profitable opportunities to grow incremental volume. - Assess customer's competitive position, behaviors and strategies and understand how they align with company strategic goals and determine appropriate investment strategy (use of trade, customer marketing, and integrated marketing equities) that will best support a customer's revenue, profit and share growth. - Develop productive working relationship with key decision makers within the customer's organizational structure. - Manage numerous key customer touch points. - Manage trade funding in accordance with company standards. - May be responsible for managing all categories or select categories, depending on the specific customer. - Requires varying degrees of cross-functional interaction within the customer team (e.g., Finance, Category Management, Customer Marketing, Customer Business Managers, etc.) as well as with World Headquarter personnel (e.g., Integrated Marketing, Customer Development, Brand Management, etc.) based upon the size, complexity and strategic importance of the customer. - Working knowledge of the Syndicated database & technical skill to leverage the data. - Strong understanding of and experience with P&L management.
