SUMMARY: The Shade Room is seeking a dynamic and passionate Intern to join our media company. This internship offers a comprehensive introduction to the fast-paced world of media and entertainment, providing hands-on experience in various facets of the industry. As an intern, you will support the TSR TEENS team. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, detail-oriented, and eager to learn about media creation and distribution. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Monitor social media platforms and online communities to identify stories, trends, and emerging conversations relevant to Gen Z audiences. Assist in writing articles and other forms of written content. - Draft and edit concise, accurate copy for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms in alignment with the brand voice. - Aid in conducting research to support content development and fact-checking. - Help produce multimedia content, including short-form video, graphics, photo selections, and captions. - Assist with ensuring all content adheres to the company's style guide and editorial standards. - Assist with managing and organizing social calendars. - Assist with managing multiple writing projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met. - Assist in promoting content through various platforms to increase readership. - Other duties as assigned. This role requires great news judgment from someone who loves and gets Black people and culture across the diaspora, and can work fast without sacrificing quality, accuracy, or personality.
