Role Description We’re hiring a Technical Sales Specialist to help accelerate the adoption of our next-generation cloud compute infrastructure. This role blends sales enablement, pre-sales support, and commercial optimization. You’ll work closely with Google Cloud field teams to build a strong sales pipeline, help size customer opportunities, and explain the cost-savings and performance benefits of our cloud virtual machines (GCE/GKE workloads). You will serve as the bridge ensuring that our sales teams have the training, tools, and strategic support they need to drive successful customer evaluations. Responsibilities - Drive Adoption with Google Cloud Sales - Engage with Google Cloud field teams to drive and accelerate the adoption of Compute Engine and GKE products. - Act as an advisor to internal sales teams, providing infrastructure and sizing recommendations to support customer migration. - Build, expand, and maintain a pipeline of target accounts by identifying customer infrastructure needs. - Support ongoing customer engagements by sharing price and performance benchmarks to show the value of our cloud environments. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive business growth and strategic product positioning. - Sales Enablement & Program Support - Assist in defining proof-of-concept requirements to help secure customer wins. - Deliver clear cost estimates, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), and ROI calculations to help sales teams explain financial value to customers. - Help sales teams navigate cloud billing, estimates, and discount models to provide optimized pricing options. - Lead internal enablement sessions to ensure field teams are familiar with product details, regional availability, and sales collateral. - Support our presence at regional in-person industry events and follow up on marketing leads with account teams. - Ensure all sales opportunities are accurately tracked in internal data systems and provide simple, bi-weekly progress updates. - Program Governance & Reporting - Ensure all customer sales opportunities are accurately tagged and tracked across internal data systems. - Monitor and analyze product performance reports, including tracking MoM customer growth/decline, expansion/renewal opportunities, and customer preview adoption. - Provide bi-weekly progress and pipeline utilization reports directly to program management and leadership. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure (IaaS) sales, account management, or technical pre-sales. - Experience with Google Cloud, AWS, or similar cloud compute environments. - A "hunter" mindset—someone who is proactive, thrives in a dynamic environment, and loves driving projects to completion. - Comfortable discussing cloud resources (Compute, Storage, Network) and translating customer needs into solutions. - Ability to understand and explain basic cloud cost calculations, TCO, and savings models. - Highly cross-functional with excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
