Role Description Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder II to join our Coding Team! In this role you will be responsible for: - Reviewing and analyzing medical records. - Assigning appropriate codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services. - Ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies and government agencies to ensure compliance and proper reimbursement. - Working closely with healthcare providers and billing staff to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. - Maintaining the financial health of healthcare organizations while ensuring the integrity of patient data. - Projecting a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of medical information, physicians, coworkers, and Northwest Specialty Hospital as appropriate. - Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States. - High school diploma. - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. - Familiarity with ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems. - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. - Proficiency in computer applications, including coding software and Microsoft Office. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Willingness to adhere to coding guidelines and regulations through Continuing Education courses. - Existing and active certification from AAPC or AHIMA. - Four years of coding experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on inpatient, outpatient, or specialty coding required. Role Description - Answer incoming calls and direct them to the right departments - Accurately schedule appointments, consultations, and surgeries in Athena - Register new patients and input detailed demographic and insurance information - Confirm appointments and verify insurance coverage - Educate patients on pre-visit protocols, paperwork, and appointment details - Take and route messages from patients, physicians, and pharmacies - Coordinate scheduling for multiple physicians and locations - Provide backup front office support and contribute to overall workflow - Reach out to new patients with a friendly welcome call Qualifications - High School Diploma or equivalent required - Minimum 2 years of experience in appointment/surgery scheduling in a healthcare setting - Prior experience working with insurance and EHR systems (Athena plus!) - Familiarity with medical terminology and managed care contracts - Excellent verbal/written communication and people skills in English and Spanish - Strong organizational and time management abilities - Proficient in Microsoft Office with fast, accurate data entry skills - Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail Requirements - Love working with diverse patient populations - Thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative setting - Have a service-first mindset and are calm under pressure - Are driven to provide the best patient experience every time Physical & Mental Requirements Standard office duties including sitting, standing, and using a computer. Role Description Support general accounting and finance functions of the National Group to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to all levels of management. Assist in interpretation and analysis of financial results and budget/forecast variances. Maintain accounting policies and procedures. Determine, develop, and implement new efficiencies and process improvements as requested. - Prepare and review monthly journal entries for assigned entities during accounting close while adhering to established accounting standards and procedures. - Review monthly accounts receivable and corresponding reserves. - Perform complete and thorough month-end review of facility general ledger and financial statements. - Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned entities. - Prepare monthly internal financial reports to support management in operational reviews and internal control compliance. - Support and improve business processes and accounting systems by working directly with facilities and Corporate to ensure the accuracy, usefulness and timeliness of financial statements provided to management and external auditors. - Assist in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance by ensuring that accounting policies and procedures are adhered to, and providing assistance, as needed, in the ongoing development and implementation of new controls, policies and procedures. - Maintain fixed asset records and reporting for assigned entities. - Assist in the year-end financial statement audit and quarterly reviews with the external auditors including the preparation of audit schedules. - Support and participate as necessary in ERP implementations, upgrades and enhancements, and related testing. - Participate as necessary in accounting integration of business acquisitions. - Act as liaison with National Group facility management and accounting personnel in budget preparation, financial close, accounting research, internal control compliance, external financial reporting, and external audit support. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; - Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience; - Extensive knowledge of financial/accounting principles and procedures; - Healthcare experience preferred; - Ability to work effectively with all levels of facility and corporate management, demonstrating initiative, mature judgement, and strong customer service orientation; - Strong communication (verbal and written), project management, and analytical/problem-solving skills; - Must possess high degree of integrity, professionalism, adaptability, and time management skills; - Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using Lawson, Oracle, Meditech, Cerner, or OneStream is preferred; - Familiarity with or experience in developing internal controls; - Self-directed, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and assertive.
