Role Description As Online Merchandiser for Specsavers, you’ll play a key role in shaping how customers discover products and content across multiple markets, with a strong focus on onsite search and merchandising performance. This is a global role with a clear regional anchor in Northern Europe – ideal if you enjoy working cross‑border, remotely and in close collaboration with international teams. You’ll blend hands‑on online merchandising with a strong interest in search and data‑driven optimisation, helping ensure customers can quickly and easily find what matters most to them. Your responsibilities will include: - Owning and optimising onsite search performance across multiple markets - Monitoring key search metrics such as exit rate, refinements, zero‑result rate and click‑through rate, and turning insight into action - Creating and maintaining search optimisation rules such as synonyms, redirects, boost/bury logic and seasonal or campaign‑specific rules - Proactively identifying and resolving no‑result queries and uncovering emerging keyword trends - Ensuring search and merchandising support product launches, promotions and local market priorities This role operates on a global level and works with all our markets. It is based in Northern Europe and is ideal for someone who enjoys cross‑border, remote working and close collaboration with international teams. You should expect occasional travel to the UK for team sessions and collaboration. You’ll be part of the Global Customer Engagement Hub, working closely with colleagues across Northern Europe, the UK, Canada and Australia. While the team is primarily UK‑based today, we're keen to build a stronger global presence, which is why we are recruiting in all our regions. The team works in a remote‑first setup and values knowledge‑sharing, trust and clear communication. Qualifications - Experience within online merchandising, eCommerce coordination or digital content - Confidence working cross‑border in a global role with multiple stakeholders - Hands‑on experience with eCommerce platforms and onsite search solutions (we use Algolia and Talon.one) - An analytical mindset and genuine curiosity for customer behaviour and search performance - Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise across markets with different needs Requirements - You’re structured, self‑driven and comfortable working in a global, remote setup. - You enjoy turning complexity into clarity and using insight to improve customer experiences.
