Essential Functions - Manage the educational process to ensure that every student is involved in a positive educational experience through the learning, teaching, and social environment. - Perform faculty responsibilities as outlined in the faculty job description in accordance with the provisions of Faculty Supplement to the South University Faculty/Staff Handbook. - Provide course instruction that aligns with the South University model of curricula and supports the South University style of system delivery. - Design and deliver instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course outcomes, the development of activities that support lesson objectives, and online courses, deliver the instruction as approved within each course shell. - Effectively utilize technology in the classroom to support the student learning experience. - Enable the achievement of pre-defined outcomes for student achievement and evaluation of learning by providing instruction that fosters proficiency and establishes student performance criteria and evaluation. - Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing an educational environment conducive to learning and student involvement and effectively planning and preparing for classes and student success. - Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule and exhibiting a passion for teaching and students, and engaging students in the learning process. - Manage the educational environment by keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing academic and attendance policies consistent with the school, campus, or online division. - Relate professional/life/industry experience to learning by continuing professional/technical skills development, the introduction of industry perspective into courses, and the active awareness of professional/industry trends and opportunities. - Participate in the faculty development process to enhance knowledge, skills, and abilities in learner-centered instruction. - Communicate consistently and effectively with supervisor(s), faculty, and other South University administrators. - Contribute to a learning culture by participating in curriculum and system task forces, supporting local campus events such as orientation and graduation, and participating in various other workshops and meetings. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - PhD in a field related to the classes to be taught is preferred, master's degree required. - Zero to two years’ experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution. - Experience in Obstetrics and/or Pediatrics required. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations. - Outstanding conflict resolution skills. - Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills. - Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills). - Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines. - Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents. - Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision. - Ability to learn from students’ participation, demonstrates fair and consistent behavior in all matters, and shows compassion without being ineffectual. - Ability to perform with legal and ethical boundaries. • Responsible for recruiting qualified applicants for admission to the University • Manage time and inquiry resources to generate interest in programs • Conduct a high volume of prospective phone contacts to secure appointments • Facilitate interview activities and conduct follow-up with applicants • Work interdepartmentally with Student Support Services to ensure student support and successful matriculation • Explain educational programs, expected outcomes, student services, and financial considerations to students, parents, and educators • Secure new inquiries and conduct interviews to pursue qualified candidates for enrollment • Consistently conduct follow-up meetings with applicants

• The Chair is a faculty member of the College of Health Professions and serves as an academic leader for the program(s) • Conduct on-site/campus at least twice a month across multiple campuses and all future expansions of all faculty, staff, Medical Directors, and Program Directors to manage. • Supervise PD all faculty, staff, Medical Directors on daily program operations • Convene a collective PD committee bi-weekly to review admissions, curriculum, accreditation updates, and program policies • Conduct one-on-ones with PDs bi-weekly • Develop and revise quarterly schedules for all campuses to ensure alignment with registrar and academic terms. • Evaluate fiscal use of resources and manage, hire, and credential adjunct/instructor pool. • Ensure and audit implementation of appropriate and correct departmental course syllabi, course content, and course policies for all 6 campuses the program is offered. • Assist students timely with appeals, grievances, and concerns in the department across all campuses. • Oversee program assessment, admissions, course delivery, remediation process, dismissal and re-entry procedures for all campuses. • Implement retention initiatives across all 6 campuses. • Supervise and review the budget developed by each PD, working with campus leadership on proposed expenditures. • Meet with clinical partners at each campus frequently to ensure recruitment and retention of clinical sites. • Oversee processes and procedures conducted by all clinical education faculty on every campus including clinical faculty/preceptor development and other requirements according ARC-PA. • Oversee processes and procedures conducted by all didactic education faculty on every campus including didactic instructional faculty development and other requirements according ARC-PA. • Audit PD and faculty documentation within every campus’s student files to ensure proper documentation of progression and academic advising. • Manage the Student Progress and Promotions Committee process and procedure to ensure student access to due process across all campuses. • Ensure that program advisory committees are formed and meet at least twice a year on every campus. • Manage and evaluate all PDs performance and conduct on every campus in conjunction with the Campus Dean. • Provide input on the evaluation of all faculty, Medical Directors, and staff performance and conduct on every campus in conjunction with the Program Director and Campus Dean. • Coordinate and supervise Interprofessional activities for each campus to ensure Medical Directors, and staff participation. • In the absence of a PD, the Chair may serve in the interim role to support the campus. • Act as a liaison between faculty, staff, Medical Directors/Program Directors and the Campus Deans, including the Assistant/Associate College Dean.

• Provide individualized proactive advising to all assigned students. • Drive student persistence and success through orientation, exposure to the learning platform, effective class scheduling, and monitoring degree progress to graduation. • Develop course schedules for new, continuing, transfer and reentry students aligned with course sequencing in the curriculum and provide advisement focused on academic progress toward graduation in the shortest time possible for the student, as applicable to their individual situation. • Maintain direct contact with assigned students via phone, text and e-mail; respond to student inbound communication within established timeframes • Monitor student’s attendance, grades, academic progress, and financial responsibilities, and develop success plans for at-risk students, or those experiencing challenges, in collaboration with faculty, academic leadership and University support services. • Demonstrate proficiency with understanding and communicating policies in the University Catalog, Student Handbook and Programmatic Handbooks as they relate to assigned students, such as Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy, Attendance Policies, Academic Integrity/Academic Honesty Policies, Conduct Policies and Appeals Procedures. Provide guidance to assigned students for academic procedures such as grade challenges or appeals. • Facilitate new student’s acclimation to the academic environment prior to the first class by reviewing the enrollment process, providing an overview of the on-line or campus classroom and reviewing graduation progression options. Audit student academic records regularly and determine progression towards and candidacy for graduation. • Assist students reentering the university after being withdrawn or dismissed from the University with the reinstatement process, monitor student progress to graduation, provide proactive advising, and develop interventions as needed. • Effectively access and perform assigned duties using the Student Information System, Learning Management System and relevant databases. • Maintain compliance with management of student information through adherence to FERPA requirements and Record Management Policies. • Participate and successfully complete all academic counselor training and development activities; mentor new Academic Counselors and participate in onboarding as requested • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• The Future Healthcare Leaders (FHL) Program Director is a key faculty (rank commensurate with experience) and administrative leader responsible for 50% teaching and 50% program oversight, development, mentoring, and retention of students enrolled in pre-professional, allied health, and healthcare pathway programs including nursing, physical therapist assistant, occupational therapy assistant, and other clinical or academic programs. • Key responsibilities include teaching courses to support pre-professional preparation, managing daily program operations, providing individualized student mentoring and support, tracking and monitoring student progress, supporting student progression and retention, facilitating successful transitions from pre-professional to professional clinical phases and/or continued enrollment, collaborating on curriculum updates, assisting with assessment, and ensuring a high-quality educational experience. • The FHL Program Director collaborates with campus, college, and program leadership, admissions, academic support, financial aid teams, and clinical partners to retain students and ensure seamless program transitions. • The Future Health Leaders Program Director works directly with the Department Chair to maintain program strength and sustainability while serving as the primary advocate and guide for students navigating their healthcare career pathway.

• Responsible for all student academic record keeping. • Compiling, maintaining, and tracking student academic information and records. • Acts as the central records facilitator for permanent academic information. • Share responsibility with the Dean of Academic Affairs and Academic Department Directors for successful enrollment and persistence of students. • Ensure students are properly enrolled by interacting with ADDs. • Monitor attendance and persistence procedures. • Generate reports in requested formats for in-house, support staff and external agency use. • Process student grades and enforce Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP). • Serve as the Designated School Official for the Veterans Administration. • Review degree candidates and graduation ceremony.

• The Program Director is a member of the full-time core faculty who manages the daily coordination of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program on campus. • Responsibilities include classroom instruction, day-to-day program operations, assisting students toward successful term-by-term progression, managing the curriculum, advising students, hiring and evaluating faculty, creating quarterly schedules, providing budget recommendations, and ensuring CACREP standards and the South University Mission are upheld in all areas of the program. • Engages in professional associations, businesses, and the local community as necessary to promote the visibility and stature of the program. • Abides by the mandates set by the South University Board of Trustees, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, the Campus President or Director, and the Campus Executive Committee. • Collects data for Key Performance Indicators, submits quarterly student evaluation forms for all students, and participates in formal evaluation of students. • Partners with the campus leadership to generate a strategic enrollment plan for the program. • Collaborates with academic counselors, admissions, financial aid, and student services personnel to assist with enrolling qualified students. • Effectively administers and grows the program(s) including curriculum development, program assessment, student registration/advisement, and community and campus relations.

• Under the direction of the Dean Student Affairs, develop and implement programs and activities that support Online student engagement and retention to graduation. • Assist the Dean in promotion of strategies and programs designed to positively impact student persistence and increase student satisfaction at the school. • Create opportunities for student life in the virtual campus environment, and foster opportunities for students to connect with faculty, peers, alumni and industry professionals. • Create policies, programs and services that support the University's mission. • Assist the Dean of Student Affairs in the development of short- and long-range vision for the department and lead department staff in the implementation of plans. • Work collaboratively with the Dean of Student Affairs and Executive Committee and all other departments on achieving school objectives for enrollment and persistence. • Meet the needs of a diverse Online student population, foster student development and promote involvement in student life. • Specific responsibilities include the delivery of effective and quality services to students in one or more of the following areas: new student orientation, referral to counseling services, student conduct, student activities and programs, student organizations, assisting with student communication, and disability services.
