As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for a variety of digital products based in Captivate and the Unity game engine. You will work with highly skilled and motivated delivery teams made of Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs), Software Engineers, 3D Artists, and Tech Leads to design, develop, test, build, and deploy customer training software — and have a blast doing it. Accelint’s ideal candidate is responsible for supporting all kinds of design efforts of these digital products, validating their efforts with the program Creative Leadership and other Creative Operations team members regularly to accomplish this. They are responsible for the accurate implementation of their eventual designs into the game engine, as well, and work closely with our Software Engineers to ensure this. Our ideal candidate workshops their efforts with the Creative Director and Creative Operations team weekly to ensure their designs and implementations are cohesive. They’re open to critique and can pick up brand standards and iterate on them easily. Our ideal candidate also has a portfolio that demonstrates the core competencies of a graphic designer. In fact, it is required that you submit an online portfolio and/or website of your work with your application. While the best Graphic Designer portfolios typically display a proficiency in general graphic design, other efforts in motion graphics, branding, and logomark design, collaborations with others, and video work are all acceptable. We also recommend galleries demonstrating an understanding of typography and principles of design. Duties and Responsibilities: - Specialization in producing high-fidelity 2D graphics. - Craft motion graphics and ensure implementation by software engineers is solid. - Design for desktop-based and/or tablet-based UIs. - Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with software engineers and other stakeholders. - Illustrate design ideas to product stakeholders using mockups as needed. - Provide feedback to software engineers as designs are implemented to ensure user experience is cohesive and accurate. - Regularly workshop efforts with the Creative Director and the Creative Operations team to maintain a cohesive design and user experience of the digital product. - Leverage design thinking and questioning techniques to develop strategies where pathways are not clear. - Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: - Bachelors’ Degree in Graphic Design or related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree. - Working knowledge and skill in design tools, for example, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, After Effects, and/or other Adobe Creative Suite products, as well as optional (but not required; see Preferred below) prototyping tool like Sketch, Figma, Balsamic, etc. - Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across audiences at various levels of understanding. - Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. - Ability to work with other designers and developers to implement new ideas. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance. Preferred Skills (Not Required): - Familiarity with Adobe Captivate authoring tool. - Previous experience in collaboration with system and software engineers on UI implementation. - Working knowledge and/or understanding of prototyping tools like Sketch, Figma, Balsamic, etc. - Experience outside of 2D production that demonstrates a variability of design skills. - Understanding and appreciation of standard user interface design concepts. - Understanding of foundational design principles and practices, typography and color, and multi-device usability standards. Instructional Systems Designers (ISD) supports the development, and delivery of Interactive Multi-Media Instruction (IMI) and Computer Based Training (CBT). The ISD establishes methodologies, processes, and working group interaction in all stages of IMI and CBT development to ensure reliable and repeatable results. ISD will assess project learning and performance needs to craft effective and efficient plans for performance solutions and services that address business-specific requirements and constraints. Duties and Responsibilities: - Conducting analyses and developing curricula and associated products in multiple formats according to instructional principles, customer objectives, and project objectives. - Guiding subject matter experts, in the government and others, through the training design and development process. - Determining instructional strategies to be used and ensuring curriculum developed follows sound ISD methodology. - Completing exploratory analysis and visualization. - Facilitating and analyzing feedback to implement continuing improvement. - Travel for demonstration or customer relations. - Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: - BS in instructional design, adult education, cognitive science, psychology, human-computer interactions, human factors or a related discipline that is relevant to the broad area of computational science and AI. - Three (3) years’ minimum experience in instructional design, content development, training delivery, or an adjacent field. - Experience developing courseware outlines, storyboards, graphic requests, onscreen lessons, instructor guides, trainee guides, test questions, and assessments. - Must be knowledgeable of the courseware development process including job/task analysis, course design, storyboarding, testing, implementation, and validation. - Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Write, edit, and proofread technical information and data. - Familiarity with learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. - Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style. - Ability to effectively support multiple projects. - Proficient with Office 365. - Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance. As a 3D Artist, you will support the design and production of immersive Navy training solutions, including Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI), simulations, and 3D training assets. You will collaborate daily with Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs), Software Engineers, Tech Leads, and other creative team members to design, model, texture, animate, test, and integrate high-quality 3D assets into training applications developed in Unity or similar environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Our 3D Artists contribute to the entire asset pipeline—from concept and modeling to optimization and integration—and regularly validate their work with Creative Leadership and project stakeholders. You will help shape the visual fidelity of Navy training products and ensure that all 3D elements support learning objectives, technical accuracy, and usability.
