Title: Senior Product Designer Location: Austin, TX Department: Product Full-Time / Hybrid Job Description: SkyGrid, a Wisk Company, exists to open the sky for autonomous flight. Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds ground-based high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of highly automated and autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services. SkyGrid is looking for a Senior Product Designer to implement novel aviation graphical user interfaces based on a holistic understanding of operational objectives, safety principles, and user workload. In this role, you will lead and evolve design systems to ensure a consistent user interface design for aviation products, ensuring cohesion and usability across all interfaces, and work with customers to develop and validate user requirements. This role will involve cross-functional collaboration and communication to inform design decisions and provide rationale of design changes to leadership and other stakeholders. This is a hybrid position based in Austin, TX and will report to the Head of Product. Performance Objectives: - Provide a strategy to evolve SkyGrid’s design system, ensuring scalable patterns and interface consistency across operational tools. - Gain a comprehensive understanding of SkyGrid’s product lines and develop a UX strategy that incorporates user-centered designs into the products. - Facilitate design reviews, mentoring team members, and ensuring design efforts support broader product and engineering goals. - Support usability tests and collect customer feedback to improve the product and refine the value proposition. Responsibilities: - Lead the UX strategy for the design system for software products. - Lead the development of design artifacts to support the product lifecycle, including but not limited to high-fidelity mockups using Figma to deliver design implementation specifications. - Collaborate with product managers and human factors in engagement with the customers to define product requirements, user-centered interface patterns, and detailed interaction models to communicate desired product workflow. - Collaborate with product managers to ensure that the final user experience meets expectations and aligns with product requirements and value proposition. - Support the development and continued refinement of the Product Roadmap based on user feedback and customer prioritization. - Incorporate human factors principles into the design and turn low-fidelity wireframes into high-fidelity designs that lead to successful handoffs. - Support the development of research interfaces to test prototype functionality. - Guide the evolution and documentation of the SkyGrid design system, including tokens, shared components, and usage standards. - Provide mentorship to junior designers and foster cross-functional collaboration within teams. - Advocate for the user throughout the design and development process. - Stay updated on UI design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, actively seeking opportunities for professional development and growth. Qualifications: - 5+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design. - 3+ years of experience in frontend implementation such as CSS, HTML JavaScript. - BS in Human Computer Interaction, Visual Design, Human Factors Engineering, Psychology, or related disciplines. - Excellent proficiency with Figma and conducting UI handoffs with software engineers. - Experience working with engineers on release features and products. - Highly motivated to build innovative products. - Ability to conduct user study sessions with customers. - Proficient in industry-standard design and prototyping such as Adobe Creative Suite Visual Design software (Illustrator, XD, Photoshop, or equivalent design software). - Strong understanding of the design process, design methods, and design principles. - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience developing graphical user interfaces for aviation applications. - Working knowledge of human factors principles as applied to the design of aviation user interfaces. The SkyGrid team is looking for a Senior People Operations Manager to support our local and remote team. This person will collaborate with the leadership team to develop strategies that prioritize employee well-being, engagement, and workforce growth. This person will also oversee and support our Talent Acquisition and Facilities departments. Performance Objectives: - Closely monitor employee retention and identify avenues for ensuring a supportive, positive, employee first work culture. - Oversee Talent Acquisition operations and identify recruiting strategies that minimize the time to fill metrics. - Improve upon current processes and policies. - Prioritize employee training and development with a focus on new manager development support. - Improve the current Performance Review process. Responsibilities: - Oversee Talent Acquisition department processes and deliverables. - Ensure Talent Acquisition department success by closely teaming up with recruiters to manage full cycle recruiting. - Facilitate annual compensation review to enable equitable pay practices across departments. - Oversee Performance Management System and conduct mid-year and annual review companywide including shared resources from parent company. - Work with leadership and managers to implement effective performance reviews. Set goals and coach managers to consistently provide sync ups to support team members with goal progression. - Prioritize employee satisfaction by creating a positive, open, and welcoming environment. - Manage internal Culture Committee activities to enhance Employee Experience. - Partner on facilities related requests and projects. - Annually update Handbook to ensure compliance across multiple states. - Maintain and monitor employment eligibility and verification documentation including work authorization support and company sponsorships. - Create initiatives that support our parent company people resources. - Conduct anonymous employee surveys and act on discoveries by implementing positive changes and improvements. - Oversee onboarding process including identifying areas of improvement. - Oversee offboarding process including exit interviews to identify areas of improvement. - Prioritize career development for all SkyGrid employees. - Support employees through conflict resolution in a prompt manner to ensure a pleasant workplace environment. - Maintain employee records. - Collaborate with managers to identify and recommend learning and development opportunities. - Oversee HRIS activities including payroll, data management, time and attendance, and annual benefits renewal. - Monitor key metrics including time to fill and retention. - Consistently look for ways to enhance current processes, policies, and procedures. - Report to SkyGrid HQ on a Hybrid schedule. Qualifications: - Minimum of seven years of HR/People Ops experience. - Bachelor's degree. - SHRM or PHR certification.  - Strong knowledge of HR compliance and practices. - Experience with compensation strategies and performance management. - Demonstrated experience in developing new policies and procedures that support a start-up environment. - Be able to uphold high levels of confidentially. - Be approachable, empathetic, and patient. - Prior experience in a fact-pace, evolving start-up environment. - Be adaptable and open to change. - Be able to collaborate and present to C-level executives. - Experience with HRIS tools.
