Role Description The Entrepreneurship Coordinator supports the delivery of the jointly governed Entrepreneurship Program established collaboratively by Skeena (ECML) and the Tahltan Central Government (TCG) under the Impact Benefit Agreement. This role serves the Contracting Team and acts as a dedicated resource for Tahltan Members and Tahltan Businesses seeking to access contracting and business opportunities at the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project. - Administer the Entrepreneurship Program and micro-credit fund, including: - Reviewing funding applications - Tracking loans and repayments - Maintaining accurate program records - Monitor program budgets and expenditures in alignment with approved annual plans, and prepare regular updates for the Contracting Team. - Develop and maintain resources, policies, and tools that support consistent and transparent program delivery. - Ensure compliance with the Impact Benefit Agreement, approved governance frameworks, and applicable internal policies. - Plan, coordinate, and facilitate annual business development workshops for Tahltan Businesses in Tahltan Territory. - Deliver training initiatives that build Tahltan Business capacity in areas such as: - Proposal writing - Contractor pre-qualification - Accessing capital - Understanding ECML’s contracting standards - Serve as a trusted point of contact for Tahltan Members and Businesses, providing guidance on: - Business Opportunities - Pre-qualification - ECML’s contracting processes - Support Tahltan Businesses in building skills and qualifications needed to bid on and perform Project Contracts. - Assist in maintaining the Tahltan Business Registry. - Engage with Tahltan entrepreneurs to understand barriers to participation and bring forward recommendations. - Track unsuccessful bids, analyze root causes, and inform annual work plans. - Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and other internal teams to support integration of Tahltan Business participation. - Build and maintain relationships with Tahltan entrepreneurs, community organizations, and external partners. - Maintain accurate records across all program activities for internal oversight and reporting. - Support monitoring and reporting deliverables, including data entry in applicable tracking systems. - Prepare accurate and timely reporting to support Contracting Team oversight and IBA reporting requirements. - Maintain confidentiality and ethical stewardship of Tahltan business and program information. - Support the Project contracts inventory to be communicated annually per IBA requirements. - Demonstrate and promote Tahltan principles in daily coordination and decision support processes. - Practice relational accountability through reciprocity, transparency, humility, and trust-building. - Support culturally safe spaces and processes that balance Indigenous and Western governance approaches. - Perform all other related and general administrative duties as required. Qualifications - Post-secondary education in business administration, Indigenous economic development, entrepreneurship, social sciences, or a related discipline preferred. - Training or certification in small business development, financial literacy, or adult education is considered an asset. - 5+ years of experience in Indigenous economic development, small business support, or entrepreneurship programming. - Demonstrated attention to detail and experience in reporting, governance, or compliance-driven environments. - Experience supporting Indigenous communities or businesses in building capacity and accessing economic opportunities. - Familiarity with small business finance and micro-credit lending principles. - Experience planning and facilitating workshops, training sessions, or community events. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build trust-based relationships. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Willingness to travel within Tahltan Territory and to project sites as required. - Demonstrated ability to act impartially and manage conflicts of interest. Requirements - Legally entitled to work in Canada. - Priority hiring consideration will be given to Indigenous Nations members residing within the territories of the projects. Benefits - Expected salary range: CAD $95,000 - $110,000. - Salary determined based on education, training, and experience.
Role Description Reporting to the Social Performance Manager, the Indigenous and Regulatory Partnerships Coordinator supports the delivery of Skeena’s engagement, regulatory, and social performance commitments across the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project. The role helps implement consistent, culturally informed, and compliance‑aligned engagement with the Tahltan Nation, Indigenous Governments and Organizations, Regulators, and Communities of Interest. Working collaboratively with teams across the company, the Coordinator strengthens relationships, supports transparent communication, and contributes to effective social performance practices that advance Skeena’s project and corporate objectives. Responsibilities (including but not limited to) - Engagement Strategy & Planning - Lead the development and implementation of Skeena’s engagement strategies, plans, and schedules to support project milestones and regulatory pathways. - Incorporate community, technical, and leadership perspectives into engagement planning using culturally grounded practices. - Coordinate internally with technical and project teams to ensure engagement plans are feasible and integrated into broader company workflows. - Prepare general engagement materials (briefing notes, summaries, decks) to support staff in meetings, workshops, and regulatory engagement activities. - Lead the planning, logistics, and delivery of Skeena’s engagement activities, including workshops, open houses, and online outreach. - Community & Indigenous Partnerships - Build and maintain strong, trust‑based relationships with the Tahltan Nation, Indigenous Governments, and Communities of Interest. - Prepare technical briefing materials and support Skeena’s technical discussions with Tahltan leadership and regulators. - Maintain systems and tools that support Skeena’s collaborative work with Indigenous partners. - Implement Indigenous and Regulatory Partnerships integration across Skeena. - Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Skeena project managers, consultants, agencies, and other interested parties. - Communications - Oversee ECRP website refresh in collaboration with the Communications team. - Support development of quarterly newsletters in collaboration with the Communications team. - Feedback, Tracking & Reporting - Lead the implementation of Skeena’s Community Feedback Protocol. - Support the tracking and execution of Skeena’s regulatory engagement obligations. - Complete Isometrix data entry and reporting to maintain accurate records. - Track and report on Skeena’s external correspondence and compliance with regulatory engagement requirements. - Other Duties - All other related and general administrative duties as required. Qualifications - Post-secondary education in environmental science, communications, public relations, Indigenous studies, social sciences, sustainability, or a related discipline preferred. - IAP2 certification, or working towards completion, is considered an asset. Requirements - 2+ years of experience in Indigenous Relations, Environmental Science, strategic communications, and community or stakeholder engagement. - Demonstrated experience in supporting the development and execution of various strategies and compliance reporting. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). - Proven organization, planning, prioritization, and time management skills. - Highly detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality. - Excellent communication (written and verbal), relationship-building, and conflict resolution skills. - Strong interpersonal and analytical reasoning skills, with proven problem-solving abilities. - Effective team player who can contribute wherever needed. - Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as with others. - Willingness to travel as required. Other Information - Work Location & Conditions: This role can be based at any of Skeena’s office locations (Smithers, Vancouver, Dease Lake) or work-from-home arrangements can be considered. - This position requires the incumbent to work away from home occasionally and to travel to different work locations or events outside of regular office hours. - Compensation: The expected salary range for this position is CAD $60,000–$85,000. - All applicants MUST be legally entitled to work in Canada.
