Position: Technical Sales Representative (Remote) Location: East Coast. REQUIRED Home Base - New Jersey or Pennsylvania Qualified Candidates Corporate Office: San Ramon, California Relocation Assistance: No Closing: Continuous Recruitment. Salary: On-Target-Earning (OTE) includes a starting range of $105,000 - $146,000; it could be higher depending on individual effort and contribution. The successful candidate's starting base will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the base range for this role. The OTE will include a competitive base, commission, and bonus structure. Minimum Qualifications - BA, MS, or Ph.D. Degree in Engineering or Life Science discipline is preferred. - A minimum of 2 - 5 years of customer-facing, instrumentation sales, or related industry sales experience. - Must have the technical ability to learn our products, applications, and services. - Proven experience in cross-selling, and competence in various sales activities - lead generation, sales negotiation, and closing techniques. - Ability to influence decision-makers at all levels. - Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office, and familiar with CRM platforms. - Customer-focused: Fast, accurate response to customer questions and needs is critical; effectively communicate solution offerings and position RheoSense as a choice provider. - Accuracy and attention to detail: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. - Multi-tasking: Able to manage and coordinate multiple projects and priorities; self-motivated to continuously accomplish goals. - Excellent communication skills: Ability to read and analyze common documents; respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and effectively present information to team members and management. - Ability to handle and lift (up to 50 lbs.) heavy equipment for field demonstrations. - Ability to travel at any time, customer base. - A valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record are required when duties require the use of a motor vehicle. Other Preferred Essentials - Viscometry or Rheometry background and experience are a strong plus! - Experience and ability to speak in public. The Senior Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in delivering advanced technical support and strategic customer engagement across pre-sales and post-sales activities. This position leads complex installations, diagnostics, and service operations while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong customer-facing experience, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a dynamic, high-growth environment. This role also collaborates cross-functionally with the Research and Development (R&D) team to relay field insights and influence product innovation. The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical expert with strong customer-facing skills, capable of leading complex field service operations and collaborating cross-functionally with R&D to drive product excellence. Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related technical field; advanced certifications or graduate coursework preferred. - 5+ years of experience in field service engineering, preferably in life sciences, biomedical, or instrumentation industries. - Proven expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating complex technical systems and instruments. - Strong proficiency in Windows OS, networking, electronics, mechanical systems, and chemistry-related technologies. - Demonstrated leadership in customer-facing roles, with the ability to manage escalations and mentor junior staff. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment and adapt to evolving priorities. - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. - Willingness to travel domestically 20%–40% overnight; ability to drive up to 4–5 hours and travel by air as needed.
