Role Description RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Senior Designer in Remote. This is a full-time contract-to-hire Remote assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays. The Senior Designer supports the successful execution of pipeline and site design projects by producing high-quality technical drawings and providing mentorship to junior team members. This role is responsible for: - Plan and profile design - Conducting design reviews - Developing detailed cross-sections, profiles, and alignments in accordance with project specifications and construction feasibility The role utilizes advanced CAD and Civil 3D skills to contribute to complex CRA projects, ensures compliance with safety standards, and consistently meets deadlines. The ideal candidate brings deep industry experience, particularly in natural gas, and demonstrates strong communication, independent work capability, and a commitment to continuous learning and excellence. As a Senior Designer YOU will: - Mentor and support the development of less experienced designers - Perform plan and profile design for pipeline and site projects - Conduct baseline and design reviews for medium-complexity projects, including main installations and replacements - Demonstrate a strong understanding of workspace requirements and construction feasibility - Develop detailed cross-sections and profiles for design accuracy - Create proposed alignments based on project specifications - Exhibit expert-level proficiency in CAD software - Utilize Civil 3D effectively for pipeline and site design projects - Contribute to complex CRA (Critical Risk Assessment) projects - Complete all assignments on time and within allowable hours - Consistently demonstrate our client's Core Values - Perform other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications - Drafting certification, degree, or equivalent relevant experience - Expert-level proficiency in CAD software - Prior experience working in the natural gas industry - Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience - Comfortable understanding of Nicor Region Review Design Requirements - Familiarity with pipe specifications and design limitations - Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment - Skilled in training and developing team members - Strong verbal and written communication skills Requirements - It's a BONUS if you have: - Civil 3D certification or advanced training - Experience with CRA (Critical Risk Assessment) projects - Knowledge of construction feasibility and field construction processes - Experience mentoring junior designers or engineers - Professional certifications in drafting or design Company Description Woman owned engineering design firm in the natural gas space. Role Description This role involves contributing to the design, analysis, and construction of nuclear facilities as a Structural Engineer - Nuclear. - Oversee proposal development and guide other engineers in the development of deliverables for nuclear projects within the Civil/Structural discipline - Report to an assigned Project Engineer and Project Manager on multi-discipline proposals and projects and act as a Project Engineer for Civil/Structural projects when required - Act as a technical point of contact for the customer, leading discipline specific engineering teams - Provide area expertise in development of industry standard design and calculations associated with design and construction of commercial nuclear modifications - Work with other engineers and designers to prepare design change packages for modifications at operating nuclear plants and other associated nuclear facilities - Prepare engineering change packages (EC's) - Prepare scoping documents and proposals to determine extent of modifications required - Prepare cost estimates for engineering/design activities for Civil/Structural - Conduct field walkdowns to determine existing configuration of plant structures, systems, and components - Perform a broad range of Civil/Structural design activities to support development of design change documentation Qualifications - Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (required) – structural engineering emphasis (highly preferred) - Structural Engineer (SE) License (required) - Minimum of 8 years' experience in design and 4 years' experience in design of modifications in nuclear (DOE or commercial) plants - Must have design engineering experience associated with commercial nuclear sites (required) - Experience with Industry Standard Design Procedure IP-ENG-001 (required) - Strong knowledge of Civil/Structural design codes (AISC, ASTM, ACI) - Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) - Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and standard practices - Adaptability with proficiency in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within a nuclear power plant environment - Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing) - Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with customers and internal team members under a matrixed organization - Ability to obtain unescorted access at an operating or construction nuclear plant (required) - Strong background in commercial nuclear design and developing engineering competencies - Team player who works well as a member of a group - Detail-oriented and dedicated to task completion - Ability to travel to plant sites approximately 6-8 days/month Requirements - Master of Science or other advanced degree in engineering (bonus) - Experience working with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors (bonus) - On-site and past unescorted access at nuclear facilities (bonus) - Additional software skills including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Vault, Risa, ANSYS (bonus) - Professional Engineering (PE) license (bonus) Benefits - Competitive package including benefits, vacation, and holidays
