Summary: The Director of Sales is responsible for driving profitable growth across Prinova's product portfolio, including ingredients and value-added manufacturing business units. The role leads a sales team of account managers who sell across multiple regions, categories, and customer types, with a primary focus on strategic account growth and expansion, and is accountable for achieving revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction targets across accounts with varying deal sizes and sales cycles. The Director of Sales will also develop and manage a few key accounts directly. This role will partner closely with product management, executive leadership, and manufacturing GMs to deliver scalable growth, execution, and a sustainable customer experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to: Achieve Sales Growth Objectives - Achieve financial targets for sales, gross margin, and profitability - Maintain frequent in-the-field customer contacts via joint calls with Account Managers and Product Managers - Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with the Executive Team and General Managers - Provide coaching on sales plans and strategies for account managers to implement - Drives the execution of Prinova's sales strategy - Report on the team's budget, pipeline, and growth targets - Ultimately responsible for the success and development of the sales team members Business Operations - Direct involvement in resolving business issues with customers - Responsible for managing, maintaining, and negotiating contracts to ensure compliance, accuracy, and business continuity - Interact regularly with the executive team and individual department heads to ensure the group's operational priorities are aligned with the total company direction - Develop and track financial results and success criteria for all group activities - Develop and implement a process to continually improve sales performance - Ensure quality, food safety, risk management, and environmental sustainability practices are followed Key Supplier Relationships - Work closely with the Product Managers and GMs to ensure alignment with the business strategy. - Digital Channels: Enhance our digital presence and capabilities with customers on our website and other social media platforms - Marketing: Leverage marketing resources to enable individual and team growth. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: - Lead and Develop Teams: Manage, mentor, and coach Account Managers. Fostering professional growth and talent through annual performance plans and regular coaching sessions with your team. - Drive Team Performance: Set clear objectives, establish accountability, and implement development strategies to ensure the success and continuous improvement of the sales teams. - Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain consistent, effective communication across departments and divisions to align team efforts with company-wide goals and priorities. Required Education and/or Experience: - A four-year or graduate degree from an accredited college is preferred. - Experience in ingredients, food, beverage, or adjacent B2B industries is required. - Experience in successfully building and leading a team is preferred. Skilled in negotiating complex commercial agreements, pricing structures, and service models while balancing customer needs, internal capabilities, and long-term strategic value. - Clear Written and Verbal Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communicator able to translate complex business, technical, and financial concepts into clear, actionable messaging. Commercial Product Manager – Dairy Proteins Department: Purchasing, Distribution Location: Remote or Itasca, IL Type: Full-time Summary: The Commercial Product Manager is responsible for the overall performance of a product portfolio, focused on driving sustainable and profitable growth for the overall business. This person leads the design and execution of the product strategy and is responsible for portfolio management and pricing strategy. This position works cross-functionally in the organization across ingredient distribution and value-added manufacturing and is customer-facing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. - Define and execute product line strategies and tactics, building on global/regional product strategies and local category strategies - Lead development and execution of product line strategy vision, ensuring prioritization and proper communication across the organization - Conduct analysis on the current business to identify how best to implement the best business model for growth - Compile competitor intelligence and incorporate learnings into ongoing platform management - Ensure that all dealings are with vendors providing high-quality products and services, while following the highest code of ethics and conduct - Drive profitability for the business through pricing strategy and margin management; clear ownership of break-even points, target margins, and price banding - Set product line pricing strategy, including floor pricing and target pricing for individual SKUs - Create a business plan to identify targets (growth rate, revenue, CM, GP criteria) - Work and travel with the sales team as the product and market expert on portfolio - Optimize the product portfolio to the SKU level, making choices about new SKU commercialization, SKU rationalization - Participate in the cross-functional team to identify and realize optimization potential across the value chain - Manage commodity dairy spend across distribution and value-add manufacturing – working across teams to run positions - Ensure product inventory is maintained at appropriate levels for assigned products - Monitor costs and develop inventory levels - Maintain a minimum designated turns on all items in the portfolio - Eliminate excess and overstock inventories - Other duties may be assigned Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
