Role Description This is a remote position. As the firm continues to grow, Pitre James is seeking an Accountant to join their collaborative team environment. You will work closely with firm leadership and gain valuable exposure to complex files and strategic tax initiatives in a supportive, growth-oriented environment. - Prepare compilation and review engagements for a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses; - Prepare corporate, personal, and trust income tax returns with accuracy and attention to detail; - Assist with advanced tax planning strategies and complex corporate reorganizations; - Work on larger corporate group structures and more technically challenging engagements; - Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through responsive and proactive communication; - Monitor engagement timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure deadlines are consistently met; - Collaborate with team members on client files and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment; - Participate in internal training and ongoing professional development opportunities; - Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall client service delivery; - Contribute to a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Qualifications - CPA designation completed or in progress, with near completion considered; - Recent public practice experience required; - 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in public practice preferred; - Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian tax for corporations, individuals, and trusts; - Experience preparing review engagements and financial reporting files; - Experience with CaseWare/CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office Suite; - Experience with complex tax planning or reorganizations is considered an asset; - Equivalent long-term public practice experience may be considered in lieu of designation. The successful candidate will oversee complex engagements, contribute to strategic decision-making, and play an active role in shaping the future of the firm. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of complex client files while ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services.
