Role Description Join Pinchin Canada in a senior Civil 3D design role where your technical expertise will support project excellence, collaboration, and efficient design delivery. This position has been created to strengthen our design capabilities and support the continued success of our growing civil team. The Senior Civil 3D Designer supports Pinchin’s Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation (EDR) team by delivering high-quality Civil 3D design and coordination across multidisciplinary environmental and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for: - Developing and maintaining Civil 3D models, drawings, and surfaces while ensuring compliance with CAD standards and project requirements. - Acting as a technical resource, supporting Civil 3D workflows, troubleshooting, and integration with AutoCAD, GIS, and survey data. - Coordinating design updates, maintaining standards, and collaborating with project managers, designers, and technical teams. - Driving efficiency, consistency, and quality in project deliverables through mentorship and continuous improvement initiatives. Your role and action: - Prepare and maintain Civil 3D models, drawings, surfaces, and design elements for infrastructure, environmental, and land development projects. - Create and manage alignments, profiles, corridors, grading, pipe networks, and surfaces using Civil 3D. - Coordinate and uphold CAD standards, templates, styles, and best practices across the EDR team and related disciplines. - Review drawings and models for quality, accuracy, and compliance with Pinchin standards and project requirements. - Serve as a technical resource for Civil 3D workflows, troubleshooting, optimization, and integration with AutoCAD, GIS, and survey data. - Coordinate design updates, revisions, version control, and file management with project managers and designers. - Support and mentor junior designers through technical guidance, reviews, and knowledge sharing. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including workflow efficiency, automation, and documentation. Qualifications - Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting, or a related discipline. - 5+ years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D in a consulting or project-based setting. - Strong command of Civil 3D objects, styles, data shortcuts, reference management, and model coordination. - Experience working with survey data, surfaces, alignments, and multidisciplinary design teams. - Familiarity with GIS integration and data management considered an asset. - Strong organizational, quality control, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook) and a valid driver’s license for site visits as required. • Prepare, develop, and maintain Civil 3D models, drawings, and design surfaces for infrastructure, environmental, and land development projects • Create and manage alignments, profiles, corridors, pipe networks, grading, and surfaces in Civil 3D • Coordinate CAD standards, templates, styles, and best practices across EDR team and related disciplines • Act as a technical point of contact for Civil 3D workflows, troubleshooting, and optimization • Support integration between Civil 3D, AutoCAD, GIS, and survey data (including surfaces, points, and control) • Coordinate design updates, revisions, and version control with project managers and designers • Collaborate with Central Graphics Team (CGT), GIS, survey, and engineering teams to ensure data consistency and workflow alignment • Assist with project setup, drawing organization, naming conventions, and file management • Contribute to continuous improvement of design workflows, automation, and efficiency • Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Lead in keeping the team members and all stakeholders safe. • Lead project teams in the execution of technical project work, perform senior review, and client management duties where appropriate. • Assist the Manager in developing and implementing regional strategies aligned with the Company’s goals. • Oversee project budgets and keep staff on task. • Work to foster strong relationships with existing Clients and develop new Clients. • Gather opportunities for work and then prepare/review proposals for potential work. • Assist the Manager to help drive a culture of effective people management and career development with a focus on growth and preparing successors for key roles. • Engage in professional organizations, attend conferences when necessary, and/or contribute to technical committees in line with their field of work. • Lead by example in the office and in the field in accordance with Pinchin’s Core Values and desired culture. • Other duties as assigned.
