We are looking for a Cell Therapy Applications Scientist II who thrives at the intersection of science and real-world application. You will take cutting-edge science and translate it into practical, scalable workflows that help our customers bring therapies to life. What You’ll Do - Design and execute feasibility studies across key cell therapy areas (e.g., T cells, NK cells, PSC-derived cells) - Develop real-world workflows that demonstrate how customers can successfully use our bioreactor technology - Generate high-quality data, visuals, and insights used in marketing, sales, and scientific storytelling - Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, R&D, and Product teams to bring applications to market quickly - Engage with customers to understand their challenges and translate them into actionable solutions - Build application notes, SOPs, and protocols that serve as entry points for new and existing customers - Contribute to scientific publications, conferences, and external collaborations What Makes This Role Unique - Fast-paced, high-visibility environment – See your ideas move quickly from concept to execution - Cross-functional collaboration – Work alongside commercial, technical, and scientific teams - Cutting-edge technology – Help shape the future of cell therapy manufacturing What You Bring - Master’s degree in Cell Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering, or related field - 3+ years of hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, immune cell workflows, or stem cell differentiation - Experience with bioreactors or advanced therapy manufacturing (preferred) - Strong experimental design and troubleshooting skills - Ability to translate scientific data into clear, compelling insights - A collaborative mindset and comfort working in a dynamic, commercially driven environment Why PBS Biotech PBS Biotech is a leader in bioprocess innovation, supporting the development of next-generation therapies. About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer II to serve as a key technical partner to our global customer base. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise, client interaction, and problem-solving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As an Applications Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting customers with the successful use of PBS bioreactor systems, contributing to product improvements, and partnering closely with internal teams to drive innovation and customer success. This is a remote position with travel required. What You’ll Do - Serve as a technical expert supporting customers on PBS bioreactor systems and bioprocess optimization - Troubleshoot and resolve cell culture and process-related challenges in a timely manner - Provide remote and on-site training to customers and internal teams - Partner with Sales to support customer engagements and drive successful adoption of PBS technologies - Lead and participate in technical discussions with key clients - Translate customer feedback into actionable insights for product development teams - Support development of technical marketing materials (application notes, white papers, etc.) - Work collaboratively with the Field Service team to help complete services on PBS bioreactors in the field as necessary What We’re Looking For - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience - Hands-on experience with immune cell culture (T cells, NK cells) - Experience working with bioreactor systems - Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills - Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment - Willingness to travel (up to ~25%) Nice to Have - Experience working in biotech, biopharma, or related industries - Experience creating technical documentation or publications - Customer-facing or applications support experience Why Join PBS Biotech - Be part of a company advancing cell therapy and bioprocessing innovation - Work in a collaborative, high-impact environment - Opportunity to influence product development and customer success - Competitive compensation and benefits - Remote flexibility with global exposure Apply Today If you’re passionate about biotechnology and enjoy working at the intersection of science, engineering, and customer impact, we’d love to hear from you.
