The Accounting Specialist supports the day-to-day accounting operations of NVE, Inc. This position will be responsible for assisting with payroll processing, timesheet reviews and employee setup and management, customer invoicing, preparation of purchase orders, financial reporting, and special projects. The ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail, understands the nuances of government contracting, and thrives in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: - Review and processing of employee setup in Unanet and UKG, processing of payroll, payroll reconciliations and tax reporting. - Assist in preparing and reviewing invoices in accordance with government contract terms - Assist in input and processing of purchase orders - Perform other accounting or administrative duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or additional experience in lieu of degree). - 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably with a federal contractor. - Experience in accounting systems such as Unanet, Deltek or similar platforms - Knowledge of payroll processing systems such as UKG or ADP (preferred yet not required) - Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. - U.S. Citizenship (due to government contract requirements). Desired Qualifications: - Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and DCAA regulations. - Experience with government cost accounting (e.g., indirect rates, allowable/unallowable costs). - SharePoint experience.
