Has a working knowledge of online scheduling, data tracking, and reporting. Must have demonstrated knowledge in cloud-based information technology services, such as Microsoft 365, Smartsheet, and Dropbox. These positions will work directly with the department head to teach a variety of sociology courses online. These positions have a 4/4 teaching load and include service to the department. Applicants must have a Master’s or Doctorate in Sociology or a closely related field, a minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in online instruction, and evidence of excellence in online teaching at the college or university level. Preference will be given to candidates who have teaching experience in at least three of the following areas: family, youth, education, crime and deviance, culture, sports, food, gender and sexuality, and/or medical sociology. Preference will also be given to candidates with experience developing online courses (such as through Quality Matters or similar frameworks) and a demonstrated commitment to pedagogy and active student engagement.
