Role Description The Junior System Administrator will assist in maintaining and troubleshooting US Urology’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and applications. Role Description The Medical Dosimetrist is an exempt, professional member of the radiation oncology team who has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment. They are cognizant of procedures commonly used in brachytherapy and have the education and expertise necessary to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist. - Designs a treatment plan by means of computer and/or manual computation that will deliver a prescribed radiation dose and field placement technique in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription to a defined tumor volume. - Considers dose-limiting structures in the design of treatment plans and documents dose in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist’s prescription. - Oversees and assists, as needed, in treatment simulations and tumor localization on dedicated devices, including CT, MRI, and PET when indicated, for radiation oncology treatment planning. - Supervises, performs, or assists in the planning and/or the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, molds, casts, other immobilization devices, and other beam modifying devices. - Supervises the therapist staff in the implementation of the treatment plan including: the correct use of immobilization devices, compensators, wedges, field arrangements, and other treatment variables. - Performs calculations for the accurate delivery of the Radiation Oncologist’s prescribed dose, documents all pertinent information in the patient record, and verifies the mathematical accuracy of all calculations using RadCalc or hand calculations. - Provides physics and technical support to the medical physicist, in radiation protection, qualitative machine calibrations, and quality assurance of the radiation oncology equipment. - Supervises, performs, or assists in the application of specific methods of dosimetry including ion chamber, TLD, or film measurement as directed by the medical physicist. - Assists in intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy procedures and in the subsequent manual and/or computer calculation of the dose distributions of these treatments. - Follows surgical protocols when assisting in the operating room with brachytherapy procedures. - Teaches applied aspects of medical dosimetry to students as assigned. - Performs routine duties independent of supervision, but consults with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required. - Operates and performs quality assurance, under the direction of the medical physicist, on the treatment planning computer. - Participates in continuing education in the area of current treatment planning techniques, and advances in medical dosimetry. - Observes radiation safety guidelines at all times for patient and personnel, always following ALARA principles. - Attends chart rounds as needed. - Submits proper documents to billing to ensure timely billing. - Participates and collaborates in accreditations and special projects of SRO as required. - May be asked to participate in the development of SRO policies and procedures. - Maintains compliance with all governmental and regulatory requirements. - Responsible for completing, in a timely manner, all USUP mandated training and in-services, including but not limited to annual OSHA training and PPD placements. - Maintains licensure and completes all continuing education requirements. - Maintains a high level of patient confidentiality. - Performs all other duties as assigned. About the Role The Patient Access Representative serves as the first point of contact for patients.
