This role is centered on better characterizing, assessing, and predicting digital asset market dynamics from regulatory, supervisory, and risk management perspectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong quantitative and analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and an interest in applying modeling and simulation methods to complex, emerging financial systems. This work will support government sponsors in understanding risks, evaluating policy and oversight challenges, and developing actionable insights related to digital assets and market structure. You will work on mission-driven problems at the intersection of digital assets, financial innovation, and public-interest technology. You will collaborate with government sponsors and interdisciplinary teams to develop rigorous, actionable analysis that informs regulatory and risk management decisions in a rapidly evolving domain. Roles & Responsibilities: In this role, you will contribute to research and analysis in areas such as: - Characterizing risks associated with digital asset, token, and stablecoin design. - Assessing market structure, participant behavior, liquidity conditions, and sources of fragility across digital asset ecosystems. - Analyzing blockchain and market data to identify anomalous behavior, market manipulation, concentration, and emerging vulnerabilities. - Designing and building agent-based models, scenario-based simulations, and stress-testing frameworks for digital asset markets and protocols. - Developing novel empirical measures to evaluate market quality, systemic risk, contagion, resilience, and consumer protection concerns. - Applying advanced analytics and computational models to inform regulatory, supervisory, and risk management challenges facing MITRE sponsors. The successful candidate will help develop modeling and simulation approaches that improve understanding of digital asset market behavior and risk. Department Summary: MITRE's Trustworthy & Secure AI (TSAI) Department within the AI, Autonomy, & Data Tech Division consists of a diverse team united by a passion and a sense of urgency to harness trustworthy and assured artificial intelligence (AI) to help solve problems in the public interest. The TSAI Department supports our sponsors' missions by delivering capabilities for securing and increasing trust in AI-enabled systems, including data driven AI risk awareness and mitigation, AI red teaming, and trusted tools and techniques for applying AI in high consequence environments. The TSAI Department works across government, industry, and academia to provide, assess, and shape trustworthy and secure AI systems to address complex mission needs for our sponsors. Our work provides opportunities to address real-world challenges in the rapidly developing field of AI assurance, and to research and prototype new methods to address mission needs. We are looking for highly motivated, adaptive, and self-directed candidates to perform research, development, engineering, evaluation, and integration of AI and large language models (LLMs). We are looking for expertise in AI and machine learning (ML), particularly the development, training, and use of LLMs and/or agentic AI. Roles & Responsibilities: The position involves researching, developing, evaluating, and integrating AI capabilities, with a particular focus on securing AI systems and integrating AI across cyber operations, especially for LLMs and agentic AI. Specific responsibilities will include: - Work in and provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI/ML solutions, including capabilities that leverage LLM and/or agentic AI technology - Analyze AI use cases and recommend secure and trustworthy solutions to sponsors - Evaluate technology solutions in the context of mission data and workflow needs, and provide actionable recommendations - Convey complex ideas to non-technical audiences through briefings and/or white papers - Contribute to projects or small teams to solve complex AI security problems for our sponsors - Contribute to the innovation of new AI capabilities applied to cyber operational challenges Basic Qualifications: - Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of artificial intelligence experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of AI-related education and work experience - Hands-on experience in one of the following technical areas: AI security, AI-enhanced cybersecurity, AI-accelerated cyber operations, or agentic AI - Demonstrated advanced skills with Python and the standard AI technical stack - Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, methods, processes, frameworks/platforms, and systems - Ability and willingness to obtain maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with a CI poly - This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site - Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance. Key Responsibilities: Talent Acquisition Reporting & Analytics - Develop and maintain recruiting dashboards, hiring plan tracking, and leadership reporting to provide visibility into hiring performance and pipeline activity. - Partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition and HR People Analytics to support the development and monitoring of recruiting metrics and KPIs. - Analyze recruiting data to produce reports, presentations, and operational insights that support leadership decision-making. - Identify trends and insights from recruiting data to support improvements in hiring processes, pipeline health, and recruiting effectiveness. - Maintain reporting documentation and processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliable reporting. Talent Acquisition Operations & Programs - Support execution of operational programs and initiatives across the Talent Acquisition team. - Coordinate timelines, communications, and documentation for recruiting-related initiatives and projects. - Maintain operational resources, playbooks, and documentation that support standardized recruiting processes. - Support recruiting vendor coordination, including documentation and alignment with Procurement and Finance. - Maintain the recruiting events calendar and support coordination of recruiting initiatives. Project Coordination - Track timelines, deliverables, and progress across TA initiatives and operational projects. - Maintain project dashboards and documentation to support operational visibility. - Coordinate activities across Talent Acquisition, HR, Procurement, and Finance partners. Leadership & Administrative Support - Provide coordination support to the Director of Talent Acquisition, including scheduling priorities, meeting preparation, and follow-up on key action items. - Support logistics and documentation for Talent Acquisition leadership meetings, project reviews, and operational discussions. - Assist with planning and coordination of TA team meetings, trainings, and offsite events. - Track and reconcile leadership expenses in accordance with organizational policies. Basic Qualifications: - Minimum of 5 years of related experience supporting HR, Talent Acquisition operations, or business operations. - Experience developing reports, dashboards, and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint. - Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to compile, organize, and summarize data for reporting. - Experience coordinating projects, timelines, or operational initiatives. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word). - Requires onsite presence at the McLean, VA office two to three days per week.
