KodexKodex helps companies manage their obligations to law enforcement to prevent real world harm
• Build and deploy models to detect and flag suspicious behavior (classification, anomaly detection, clustering, ranking, and other approaches as appropriate) • Own ML pipelines end-to-end (feature generation, training, evaluation, batch/streaming inference, backfills, and versioning) • Design evaluation + monitoring: ground truth strategies with Threat Intel, offline metrics, drift monitoring, and alerting • Collaborate with product & engineering to integrate intelligence into user-facing workflows (e.g., review queues, and decision-support tooling) • Improve data quality and accessibility by working with data engineering patterns (schemas, lineage, reproducibility, and access controls) • Contribute to operational rigor: runbooks, incident response, and safe rollout practices for systems that impact customer trust
Software Engineer – Integrations
KodexKodex helps companies manage their obligations to law enforcement to prevent real world harm
• Build and operate customer-facing integrations (APIs, identity federation, webhooks, imports/exports, and marketplace apps) that reduce manual work for customers, unblock new product workflows, and raise the reliability and security bar across the platform. • Work closely with Product, Customer Success, and fellow engineers to design, develop, and ship integration capabilities that unlock new workflows. • Building external-facing APIs and “Bridge” infrastructure for ingest/egress of requests between Kodex and third-party systems. • Shipping identity and verification integrations such as “Sign in with Kodex (OIDC)” and related security reviews, test environments, and customer enablement. • Delivering cross-border / government portal integrations that require careful spec compliance, auditing, and operational rigor. • Productizing existing bespoke integrations into reusable, scalable primitives. • Building self-serve integrations that eliminate manual setup and reduce on-call/customer support load. • Improving reliability and observability across integration surfaces. • Participate in on-call rotations to maintain system reliability and respond to incidents. • Raise the bar on engineering quality through thoughtful architecture, testing, and pragmatic refactors.
Field Marketing Lead – Private Sector
KodexKodex helps companies manage their obligations to law enforcement to prevent real world harm
• Own the private sector field strategy: which events to bet on, which accounts to activate, and how to convert in-person interactions into closed pipeline. • Partner with Sales to identify the personas and ICPs we need to reach, and design field activations that bring them to the table. • Build the operating cadence with sales leadership: account targeting, list pulls, follow-up handoffs, post-event measurement. • Operate as an extension of the sales team - earn trust through pipeline contribution, not events run. • Co-build OKRs with marketing and sales leadership tied to field-influenced pipeline. • Make sales reps look good - shoutouts at deal close are a leading indicator the partnership is working. • Plan and execute the private sector event calendar: customer events, road shows, third-party trade shows, EBCs, dinners, and account-based activations. • Own campaign execution alongside the events: landing pages, outreach copy, registrant nurture, and post-event follow-up sequences. • Manage budget and vendor relationships across the private sector field portfolio. • Use AI tools to accelerate the work - landing pages, draft copy, campaign briefs - so the team operates with the leverage of a much larger team. • Build documentation and processes that scale alongside the function.

Manager, Engineering
KodexKodex helps companies manage their obligations to law enforcement to prevent real world harm
About the company Kodex revolutionizes how organizations handle sensitive subpoenas and data requests from law enforcement and government agencies. Founded by a former FBI agent and backed by leading investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, Peak XV and Thiel Capital, Kodex has become the industry standard for secure data exchange. Our platform supports over 15,000 government agencies in 190 countries and is trusted by industry leaders like Coinbase, Stripe, and AT&T. By transforming a traditionally complex and manual process into a streamlined digital workflow, Kodex helps organizations strengthen compliance, enhance security, and reduce operational costs by millions each year. We bridge the gap between companies and authorized requestors, ensuring that sensitive data is handled with uncompromising security, transparency, and efficiency. About the Role We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Core Portal and Verifications teams, the central surface through which customers interact with Kodex. This work sits at the heart of our product: everything our customers do flows through the Core Portal; and the Verifications Team provides the internal tooling necessary to ensure all activity on the Portal is performed by verified law enforcement agents via strict initial onboarding and continuous suspicious activity monitoring. Verifications lives within Core Portal today, with the potential to grow into its own team over time. You will manage and grow a team of experienced engineers, partner closely with Product, and help define what the EM role looks like as Kodex scales. You will be highly technical, but your primary mission is people: ensuring that the engineers on your team are happy, growing, and working on the highest impact problems. You will also help drive AI proficiency across the team. We want our engineers to treat AI tools as real partners in how we design and build software. Experience with tools like Claude Code is a huge plus, and developing strong AI fluency in this role will be expected. This is an ideal role for a deeply technical, people-first leader who enjoys building structure in a startup environment, cares about career development, and wants to help shape how Kodex engineering operates. What You’ll Do - Manage, mentor, and coach engineers, building a healthy, inclusive team where people enjoy the work and feel they’re growing. - Consolidate inputs from engineers, three PMs, and leadership into a single, prioritized backlog for the Core Portal team. - Run simple, effective planning and prioritization so everyone understands what we’re doing and why. - Improve remote communication habits so people ask questions, share context, and avoid working in isolation. - Partner closely with PMs to define roadmaps, shape requirements, and balance product priorities with technical debt and reliability. - Engage in deep technical discussions with senior engineers on architecture, tradeoffs, and systems design. - Encourage and model effective use of AI tools in day-to-day engineering work, helping the team adopt and continually improve how they use tools like Claude Code. - Ensure the team’s systems are reliable, maintainable, and aligned with our long-term technical direction. - Define and track team goals, communicate progress and risks to leadership, and make Core Portal a model team within engineering. You Might Be a Fit If You… - Have ~3–7+ years as an Engineering Manager or equivalent people leader, and previously worked as a hands-on engineer. - Have enough technical depth to engage confidently with senior engineers on architecture and complex systems. - Lead with empathy, care about people’s careers, and are comfortable being human and honest with your team. - Have run performance reviews, navigated hard feedback, and coached engineers through real growth. - Are used to partnering with PMs from idea → requirements → shipped work, and bring user and business context into technical decisions. - Have taken a team from conflicting inputs and ad-hoc work to a clear backlog and simple, effective rituals. - Enjoy improving process just enough to help people move faster, not to add bureaucracy. - Are excited about leveraging AI in engineering workflows, and either have experience with tools like Claude Code or are eager to become highly proficient with them. - Prefer rolling up your sleeves and fixing problems directly rather than waiting for someone else to own them. - Thrive in remote, startup environments. - Bonus: have experience in security, encryption, or data-protection–heavy systems.
