Job Title: Transmission Intern Department: Asset Operations Reports to: Manager, Transmission and Systems Analysis Effective Date: Sep 2025 Location: Remote Travel: None POSITION PURPOSE: This is a temporary, non-exempt position that will be reporting to the Manager, Transmission and Systems Analysis. The Transmission Intern will use quantitative reasoning, problem solving, analysis, and programming skills to assist the transmission analysis team with improving fundamentals-based wholesale electricity price forecasting efforts. Job Title: Performance Engineer Intern Department: Performance Engineering Reports to: Senior Performance Engineer Effective Date: Summer 2026 Location: Remote | Houston, TX Travel: Up to 10% POSITION PURPOSE: This is a temporary, non-exempt position reporting to the Senior Performance Engineer. With support and oversight the Performance Engineering Intern will perform analysis on project operations and battery site performance. The Performance Engineering Intern will collaborate on such efforts with various teams, such as Asset Management, Market Operations, and Software Development. The ideal candidate will be deeply interested in addressing the challenges of grid intermittency through deployment of standalone battery storage. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Learning and Career Development: Learn battery storage operations basics, work with experienced engineers and data analysts, and develop professional skills. - Programming and Database Management: Develop and apply programming (SQL, Python) and database (SSMS) skills. - Performance Analysis and Engineering: Apply technical knowledge to an operations-focused Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) optimization project. - Data Visualization and Presentation: Build a visualization tool, such as Power BI report, to show project results at the end of internship. Job Title: Market Operations Senior AnalystDepartment: Market OperationsReports to: Senior Manager of Market AnalysisEffective Date: January 2026Location: RemoteTravel: Up to 15% POSITION PURPOSE: This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Senior Manager of Market Analysis. The Market Operations Senior Analyst will use quantitative reasoning, problem solving, operations research methods, and programming skills to assist the market operations team in hedging strategies (physical and financial products) and optimizing battery energy storage system dispatch across the Key Capture Energy fleet. Responsibilities may include developing algorithmic hedging and energy trading strategies, strategizing day-to-day power market operations, troubleshooting market operations in real-time, building/editing mathematical models that represent battery energy storage system operation, building reports summarizing performance of trading strategies, and direct analytical or coding projects. The ideal candidate is a create problem solver with the technical skills to independently manage projects from the brainstorm phase through to a final work-product with limited oversight. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Build and maintain algorithmic hedging strategies to support physical BESS operations and maximize portfolio value. - Lead the build-out of automated power market bidding/trading strategies using Python and SQL and champion new feature development to drive PNL improvements. - Support the day-to-day management of company assets, including via bid submission, code debugging and on-call responsibilities. - Understand factors impacting electricity prices and collaborate with the team to improve price forecasts, bidding and hedging models. Development and assess new models as necessary to improve PNL. - Analyze and manipulate datasets in MS SQL Server. Collaborate with the development team to support the build-out of necessary infrastructure for analytics work. - Identify gaps in analytical reports and dashboard tools and build new Power BI dashboards that transform data into information that informs market decisions and fills identified needs. - All other duties as required. - All other duties as required.
