Description Serves as a key member of the Kansas Farm Bureau team supporting County Farm Bureaus in strengthening local programming and sustaining a vibrant, grassroots organizational structure. Builds and maintains strong relationships with County Farm Bureau boards, producers, agricultural businesses, community organizations, and elected officials to support membership growth and foster strategic partnerships that benefit agriculture and rural communities. Oversees issues and initiatives and manages contract county staff within the assigned district. Also handles emerging priorities as directed by the supervisor or organizational leadership. This position is a full-time remote position. Candidate must reside in Kansas within 30 miles of the assigned district serving the following ten Kansas counties: Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Nemaha, Pottawatomie, Shawnee, and Wyandotte. Moderate travel within the area will be required and a company vehicle provided. Requirements - Supports, guides, and strengthens county Farm Bureau programs, services, and activities. - Builds strategic relationships with producers, elected officials, businesses, and community leaders to ensure Kansas Farm Bureau remains a relevant and impactful presence within the district and statewide. - Attends County Farm Bureau Board meetings, providing training and support as needed. - Supervises assigned contracted county Farm Bureau staff as assigned. - Conducts monthly check-ins with direct reports to support development, performance, and engagement. - Participates in the annual review process for all direct reports, including evaluation and feedback. - Coordinates and implements a contract staff professional development day. - Ensures clear and consistent communication of Kansas Farm Bureau priorities to strengthen member engagement and support county operations. - Provides regular updates on county activities, accomplishments, and emerging challenges. - Identifies, encourages, trains, and motivates leaders to participate in county and state Farm Bureau initiatives. - Monitors local conditions and membership trends; supports membership recruitment and retention efforts. - Assists county Farm Bureau leaders with financial management and administrative responsibilities within their independent, non-profit county organizations. - Represents Farm Bureau policy positions and programs at the local level while empowering members and counties to engage appropriately in key issues. - Serves as a resource person for county Farm Bureau leaders on basic employment and personnel matters. - Conducts onboarding and provides ongoing support for new county staff; may provide temporary office assistance when staffing gaps occur. - Leads or supports district and regional events, training, and activities as needed. - Participates in state-level committees or working groups as assigned. - Assists with legislative affairs, membership initiatives, training and education efforts, and Kansas Farm Bureau programs as required. - Manages assigned responsibilities in a fiscally responsible manner. - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree with five years’ experience in business, program management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. - Minimum of two years’ experience supervising staff and providing team leadership. - Strong decision-making skills with the ability to act in alignment with the organization’s mission, philosophy, and strategic direction. - Ability to remain informed about agricultural industry trends and applicable government regulations. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. - Demonstrate high level of integrity and professionalism. - Knowledge of the agricultural industry is strongly preferred. - Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (subject to a motor vehicle report). - Compliance with all organizational policies related to the use, care, and maintenance of an assigned vehicle. - Responsible for monthly reporting of vehicle mileage, maintenance, and related documentation. - Must reside in Kansas and within 30 miles of the area served (includes the following counties: Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, Jefferson, Leavenworth, Nemaha, Pottawatomie, Shawnee, and Wyandotte). Travel - Moderate travel required. Authority - Provides support to all county Farm Bureaus located in assigned district. Supervises contract county staff as assigned. Relationships - Collaborates with Kansas Farm Bureau staff to promote the organization and support shared goals. - Works closely with FBFS District Managers to advance membership efforts and address issues as they arise. - Serves as a local contact for elected officials, businesses, and community leaders on behalf of Kansas Farm Bureau. - Engages across divisions to support projects, programs, and organizational initiatives. - Maintains open communication with all Kansas Farm Bureau employees and contributes as a cooperative, team-oriented staff member. Physical Requirements Requires ability to operate voice telephone, computer, and other office equipment. Requires in-state, out-of-state, and overnight travel. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely for travel within the district. Other current office activities include walking, standing, and sitting. Must be able to work outside of normal office hours. Requires the ability to load and unload materials. Regular attendance (as defined by the Employee Handbook) is a function of the job.

Remote position with benefits included, working 30 hours a week split between the assigned county Farm Bureau associations of Brown, Jefferson, and Doniphan counties. Candidate must be a resident of Kansas and reside within 30 miles of service area (Brown, Jefferson or Doniphan county). Qualifications - Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. - Requires proficient writing skills. - Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively. - Self-starter, organizer and possesses excellent leadership, interpersonal relationship, communication, and time-management skills. - Maintains a high level of professionalism and developmental growth. - Exercise a high level of character, morality, and good judgement. - Dependable and able to adapt to various situations. - Must have and maintain reliable transportation. Travel reimbursement will be provided at the federal mileage rate. - Maintain a valid driver’s license. - Must be a Kansas resident and reside within 30 miles of Brown, Jefferson, or Doniphan county. Requirements - Assists the Board with clerical/administrative support through duties such as creating board meeting agendas, taking minutes, and distributing board materials. - Enters and maintains the County’s accounting system, including but not limited to, check writing, making bank deposits, reconciling the bank account(s), and distributing monthly financial reports to the Board. - Manages county correspondence and works with KFB design services to create, produce and distribute printed communication pieces. - Manages county association social media accounts, with the assistance of KFB Communications. - Processes membership and creates membership reports for the Board. - Coordinates activities to elevate the value of membership in the community. - Responds to members inquiries, questions and concerns. - Develops and maintains positive relationships with Farm Bureau Financial Services agencies within the counties served. - Develops community partnerships by cultivating relationships with educators, elected officials, business owners, and others in the community. - Organizes events with local, state and federal elected officials to facilitate open communication and strong advocacy networks between the boards of directors and their representatives, as directed by each board of directors. - Develops, presents, and manages programs that promote and teach agriculture lessons in the county. - Designs, and coordinates events or other opportunities to educate consumers about the food system and connects them to local producers, as directed by each board of directors. - Develops and coordinates service projects in the community, as directed by each board of directors. - Works with vendors on contracts, venues and food. - Informs local media outlets, develops those relationships, and encourages their presence at all Farm Bureau events. - Monitors, evaluates, and records outreach activities and program impact. - Recruits and manages volunteers for events and presentations. - Tracks and maintains program, event and activity budgets. - Completes other duties, as assigned. Works directly with the assigned county associations’ boards of directors and the Field Services Manager. Builds relationships within the Counties’ members, Farm Bureau Financial Services staff, and the communities. Works with Kansas Farm Bureau staff to utilize KFB resources and continually update and develop programing. Physical Demands Sit and/or stand at a desk. Operate a computer. Listen and speak to others, both in person and over the phone. Carry out public speaking obligations. Set up displays, which may require lifting up to 25 pounds. Work in an office environment or outdoors, on occasion. Work outside of normal office hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and standard workdays (Monday through Friday). Night and weekend work will be required, at times.
