Summary/Purpose: Industrial Sales Account Manager would be responsible for managing and growing the sales of their territory and/or set of specific accounts in the Industrial Aftermarket, Industrial OEM market and Automotive Aftermarket based in the Houston area. This territory covers the State of Texas. Duties would include maintaining and growing market share while qualifying and developing new business, all in support of JTEKT's overall short and long term Industrial Bearing strategic sales goals through an Annual Plan. Essential Duties and Accountabilities: The primary role of this individual is to sell and promote Koyo bearing products to national and regional bearing distributors and as defined non-segment OEM accounts, servicing the existing customer base and growing overall sales by increasing share at existing accounts and developing new accounts. Major duties include: working directly with distributor branch personnel to negotiate pricing and delivery issues on new and existing business, developing new product ideas including bearing selections and the product approval/design process. Additionally, this person is expected to build relationships with the distributor’s sales and management personnel as well as that of their end user, including engineering and quality in order to deeply strengthen Koyo’s position. - Achieve/exceed annual business plan forecast. - Develop plans and strategies for developing business and achieving customer sales goals. - Submit RFQ’s, NPR’s, PDR’s, drawing requests, sample requests, PPAP requests, etc. as necessary. - Proactively solicit and establish customer needs and requirements, and communicate to corporate in such a manner as to avoid any interruption of customer production or operations. - Prospecting and developing new customer opportunities. - Update call reports and CRM in a timely, concise and professional manner. - Continually strive to increase your knowledge of Koyo products, services, target markets, etc. as defined by corporate. - Within the Territory, be involved with appropriate industry associations, trade organizations, etc., and attend trade shows and similar as necessary. - Gather and forward information on competitor activities, as well as general issues and concerns on a monthly basis. - Attend regional and national sales meetings as required. - Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with peers in sales organization, and corporate personnel. - Entertain customers as necessary and generally maintain goodwill with customers and prospects. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Minimum two years’ experience as outside sales representative for bearing manufacturer or PT related company, selling to Ind OE, Ind AM, Auto AM and/or Auto OE accounts throughout the open Territory. - Travel up to 40% with overnights stays. Out of the office 3 to 4 days per week making sales calls. - High mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and communicate technical concepts. - Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills, with emphasis in Quality and Customer Service. - Advanced decision making and problem solving abilities. - Minimum two years’ experience working from in-home office preferred. - Highly motivated individual capable of working effectively from remote office. - Extensive Industrial aftermarket experience in open Territory, and experience working with mid to sr. level management at industrial distributors and OEM’s. - Ability to work in a team-based, participative environment working towards a group goal. - Excellent communication, business planning and organizational skills. - Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM’s. Education and Experience: - ME preferred, but BS/BA in Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Industrial Distribution, etc. required. - Bearing experience is preferred but not required. Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • 3-5 years of customs broker experience • Knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access • Experience with an ERP system, preferably Oracle • Detailed oriented • Knowledge of 19 CFR, HTSUS, C-TPAT, and FTA Education and Experience: • College Degree preferred • Customs Broker experience (import/export/classification/compliance) 3-5 years Work Environment/Physical Demands: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
