Role Description IT Tech Hub is looking for a Senior Design Systems Designer to join one of our innovative AI-focused clients on a full-time, 3-month remote contract engagement. We are seeking an experienced design systems specialist who can help mature and scale an existing design system across a growing suite of AI-powered products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in highly collaborative environments and has deep expertise in Figma, design tokens, accessibility, and design-to-development workflows. You will work closely with product designers and engineers to extend an existing component library, strengthen token architecture, and establish sustainable documentation and governance practices that improve design consistency and accelerate product development. Responsibilities - Audit and expand an existing Figma component library to improve coverage, consistency, and scalability. - Design, document, and maintain production-ready components, including variants, states, interactions, and usage guidelines. - Build and implement semantic design token architecture across color, typography, spacing, and elevation systems. - Align Figma variables and tokens with engineering token systems using Tailwind CSS and CSS variables. - Partner closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate design-to-code mapping and consistency. - Apply and validate WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards across components and design patterns. - Identify and remediate accessibility issues related to color contrast, focus states, and interaction patterns. - Create and maintain documentation that supports both designers and developers. - Participate in design reviews, critiques, and collaborative planning sessions. - Leverage AI tools to accelerate documentation, component specifications, QA processes, and design workflows. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in Design Systems, Product Design, or UI Design at scale. - Proven experience extending and maturing existing design systems. - Expert-level proficiency with Figma, including: - Auto Layout - Component Properties - Interactive Components - Library Publishing - Variables - Strong understanding of design token architecture, including: - Primitive Tokens - Semantic Tokens - Component Tokens - Experience implementing semantic token systems using Figma Variables and/or Tokens Studio. - Experience connecting Figma libraries with coded component libraries. - Strong understanding of design-to-development workflows and component mapping. - Experience aligning design tokens with Tailwind CSS and CSS variable implementations. - Familiarity with shadcn/ui and modern component-based design systems. - Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. - Experience collaborating directly with engineering teams. - Strong documentation and communication skills. - Comfortable working in remote, async-first environments. - Active user of AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or similar to improve workflow efficiency. Nice to Have - Experience working in AI product companies. - Experience working within enterprise SaaS environments. - Familiarity with Storybook and component QA processes. - Experience establishing design system governance practices. This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity for professionals based in Latin America who can collaborate during Pacific or Mountain Time business hours. The initial engagement is expected to last 3 months, with a strong possibility of extension. - Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and transformation workflows in Snowflake. - Develop and optimize data models using Coalesce and dbt. - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions. - Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across data workflows. - Support ongoing enhancements and maintenance of the data platform. - Document data models, transformations, and best practices. - Work closely with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
