Role Description A California workers’ compensation defense law firm is seeking to hire a Managing Attorney for their San Francisco office. The individual will be responsible for ensuring quality representation of employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in the defense of workers' compensation claims and will supervise a legal team that includes staff attorneys and legal assistants, while maintaining a caseload. - Client development - Recruiting and hiring talented team members - Providing ongoing coaching and feedback - Recognizing and developing team members - Identifying and managing risks - Completing daily management tasks Remote and Hybrid Options available. Qualifications - Senior-level attorney with at least five years’ experience in workers’ compensation defense - Current California Bar membership in good standing - Excellent research, communication, and organizational skills - Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment - Strong marketing and business development experience - Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all levels of the organization - Ability to lead and motivate the team to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and achieve goals - Previous management and leadership experience is a plus - Experience with MerusCase Management is a plus Requirements - 6+ years of Workman’s Compensation Defense - 225+ billable hours - 1 hour twenty minutes away from San Francisco max - Must have experience managing other attorneys and support staff

This isn’t a traditional engineering role — it’s a chance to solve real-world problems while developing professionally and financially. - Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater, riverine, and floodplain systems - Perform flood risk assessments, drainage studies, and mitigation planning - Design and evaluate stormwater systems, culverts, and detention basins - Lead FEMA (C)LOMR/MT-2 regulatory submissions and documentation - Collaborate across disciplines, with clients and agencies, ensuring regulatory compliance - Support permitting efforts for water resource and floodplain projects - Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and review modeling results Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related field - MT-2 experience - 5+ years of hydraulic and hydrologic (H&H) engineering experience - Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR, Civil 3D, GIS - Experience with FEMA LOMR/MT-2 floodplain mapping and stormwater management design - Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills - Ability to manage multiple projects effectively - Project management experience and a desire to mentor junior engineers - PE license preferred
