We're looking for a candidate who is a U.S. citizen and resides in the contiguous United States. You'll be a W-2 employee of GeoDelphi, Inc., and we do not accept third-party applications. This role requires less than 10% travel, including a two-week stay in Rome, NY, and occasional trips to the DMV area to collaborate with the managing team. This position is a mid-to-senior level non-management Software Engineer. Responsibilities - Research, develop, design, modify, write, implement, and test software geared towards population simulation. - Work with customers/end users to define project requirements and turn those requirements into an achievable timeline. - Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in back-end development tools and technologies. - Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code in various languages, primarily Java. - Recommend changes to improve established application processes. - Prepare and produce releases of software components. - Provide technical support and consultation for application and infrastructure questions. Experience - Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a software engineering role. - Experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production software. - Assist in defining architecture requirements and establishing standards for design and development. - Consults with management and customers regarding product feasibility and viability of product plans and designs. - Factor emerging technologies and product supportability into design and implementation. - Strong coding abilities emphasizing quality and testability in your work. - Utilize programming languages such as Java and Python. - Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes. - Demonstrated experience with continuous integration and software CM processes/tools (GitLab, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Nexus, and other DevOps/Continuous Integration tools). - Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and query optimization. - Provides product demonstrations and participates in trade shows, seminars, industry panels, and user group meetings. - Experience in acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization. - Interacts with customers regarding strategies, requirements, problem-solving, and support. Desired Skills - Bachelor’s Degree is desired but not required. Will consider experience in lieu of a degree. - Experience with population simulation, or other data simulation. - Experience leading a software development effort across the full spectrum of government Modeling and Simulation environments. - Experience with geospatial engineering. - Experience with Big Data processing tools, such as Spark/Hadoop, Google’s BigQuery, AWS’s Athena and EMR. - Experience with public clouds such as AWS, Google, Azure. - Strong data visualization skills. • Work closely with security, development, and operations teams to ensure alignment with DoD RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and/or FedRAMP. • Collaborate with Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), Information Systems Security Managers (ISSMs) and Security Control Assessors for ATO package development. • Serve as an internal primary subject matter expert in federal compliance standards and cybersecurity practices. • Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines aligned with DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design (DSOP). • Automate deployment of secure environments using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for DoD or FedRAMP-compliant systems. • Implement and manage DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Harbor, Nexus, SonarQube, Anchore, etc. • Develop scripts and tools for compliance validation (e.g., OpenSCAP, Chef InSpec, PowerSTIG).

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software solutions supporting the Whitespace Answers Platform and Iris AI ecosystem. • Build backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and analytic applications using modern software engineering practices. • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and testable code primarily using Python and Java. • Collaborate across Agile teams to develop technical solutions for complex geospatial and data-centric challenges. • Participate in software releases, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps processes. • Improve existing applications through performance optimization, automation, and architecture enhancements. • Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting support for software and infrastructure issues. • Collect, integrate, clean, and analyze large-scale geospatial and non-geospatial datasets. • Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning workflows, and geospatial analytics solutions. • Design and maintain scalable data processing pipelines for structured and unstructured data. • Identify trends, anomalies, patterns, and insights within commercial and geospatial datasets. • Develop interactive visualizations and mission-focused analytic products for customer stakeholders. • Conduct cloud-based data research and large-scale data processing. • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and mission teams to develop new analytic capabilities and data products. • Support intelligence, targeting, collection management, geospatial analysis, and activity-based intelligence initiatives.

• Architect, develop, and deploy advanced autonomous AI agents tailored for cybersecurity applications. • Define and implement intelligent agent systems capable of real-time decision-making and adaptive threat responses. • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and analysts to translate innovative concepts into robust solutions. • Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices in developing agent-based AI solutions. • Continuously evaluate, test, and enhance the capabilities and performance of agentic systems within Whitespace’s ecosystem. • Drive technical excellence and promote engineering best practices within the AI team.
