Role Description GIRO is looking for a Front-End Web Developer to join its team. As part of a collaborative development team, you will contribute to the addition of new features, the maintenance of our products, and modernization and redesign initiatives. While the role is primarily focused on front-end web development, you will also have opportunities to participate in the back-end development of our applications and contribute to the evolution of various components of our software solutions. Role Description As part of the Data Science Development team, you will contribute to the design and development of machine learning–powered solutions that bring added value and new capabilities to our suite of large-scale software products. - Analyzing new challenges and applying critical thinking to propose innovative software solutions. - Taking ownership of all stages of the design and development of applications that leverage statistical methods or machine learning, including: - Data manipulation and transformation; - Model selection, training, and validation; - Implementation and integration into our software product suite. - Documenting and testing developments. - Providing technical support to deployment, development, and project teams that use the features developed by your team. - Staying up to date with the latest advances in data science. Qualifications - You have completed a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field. - You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in data science or a similar role. - You have strong knowledge of applying statistical, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to solve real-world prediction and natural language processing challenges. - You have a solid understanding of MLOps practices. - You have experience integrating large language models (LLMs) and/or agentic AI into software solutions (prompting techniques, RAG, MCP). - You enjoy and are highly proficient in Python programming (knowledge of C++ is considered an asset). - You have excellent communication skills, particularly when it comes to explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - You enjoy working as part of a team and thrive in a collaborative environment. - You are fluent in French, both spoken and written. As part of the Algorithms team, you will play a key role in the design, evolution, and industrialization of complex software solutions that have a direct impact on the daily lives of millions of public transit users around the world. Your main responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhance advanced optimization algorithms integrated into a wide range of large-scale software products - Actively contribute to software and algorithmic architecture decisions - Translate complex operational problems into robust and high-performance mathematical models - Ensure code quality through documentation, testing, and code reviews - Serve as a technical reference for development and project teams using the Algorithms team’s features - Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team’s practices, tools, and standards - Depending on interest, mentor and provide technical support to more junior developers THE SKILLS THAT WILL MAKE YOU A KEY MEMBER OF OUR TEAM - Master’s degree or PhD in operations research or applied mathematics - 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in software development - Excellent command of the C++ programming language - Strong experience with Windows environments and relational databases - Very strong knowledge of operations research, including LP/MILP modeling and solving, column generation, and metaheuristics - Ability to analyze complex problems and propose pragmatic, high-performance solutions - Ability to communicate effectively in French, both orally and in writing READY TO HELP SHAPE THE FUTURE WITH US?
