Role Description As a Senior RPG Programmer/Analyst, you will lead the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of business-critical IBM i applications. You are architecting solutions that help our clients bridge the gap between legacy reliability and modern efficiency – not just writing code. - Support our clients in resolving application issues, identify business needs, and deliver solutions throughout the full project life cycle. - Analyze, design, code, and test software applications using all versions of RPG and SQL. - Ensure program and application integrity through various testing phases (Unit, Integration, Smoke, etc.). - Translate system architecture into clear textual and visual documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Capable of leading a small technical team when required. Qualifications - 20+ years of proven experience with the IBM i (iSeries/AS/400) platform. - Mastery of various forms of RPG (especially RPGLE, including Free-form syntax and embedded SQL). - Expert-level DB2 application programming and database design. - Deep understanding of ILE concepts (Modules, Service Programs, Binding Directories). - Experience navigating structured deployment and version control processes. - Capable of verbal and written communication with various levels of client personnel. Requirements - Experience with major IBM I ERP systems (Infor LX, BPCS, Infor XA, MAPICS, PRMS, JDE, Frontier, HFA, etc.). - Experience in Distribution, Manufacturing, Finance, Insurance applications. - Experience with RDi (Rational Developer for i) or Eclipse-based IDEs. - Familiarity with Git or SVN in an IBM i environment. - Experience with Impact Analysis tools. - Experience with integration solutions using APIs, JSON, XML and other integration tools such as GoAnywhere. WHAT YOU’LL DO: The IBM i Administrator position involves the day-to-day implementation, management and administration of IBM i workloads within our cloud hosting environment. The IBM i Administrator will be responsible for system integrations/transitions, troubleshooting customer environments, and a multi-tenant/Managed Service provider environment. Schedule: Full-time position (5 days/week) requiring one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) each week.  Flexible scheduling for the remaining days. Must be available for second shift hours (3pm-11pm EST or 3pm-11pm PST), with preference for candidates in Pacific Time zone.   Provide 24x7 on-call support rotation and respond to after-hours escalations for system outages, BRMS failures, and operational interruptions.  We offer fantastic benefits. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: IBM i / iSeries LPAR builds, disk management, and execution of custom CL scripts for automation as/where needed. Manage core IBM i operational components including user and object security, authorization lists, TCP/IP configuration, job scheduling, subsystem tuning, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and system health checks. Administer and optimize IBM i BRMS environments including backup policy design, media sets, control groups, tape library integration, duplication strategies, and automated recovery procedures. Perform BRMS maintenance, auditing, troubleshooting of backup failures, and ensure alignment with retention and compliance requirements. Adhere to company and IT policies. Data Replication QEDD, Mimix, and others is a plus. Administration of Hardware Management Console (HMC). WHAT YOU BRING: 2+ years of relevant experience in IBM i administration, including experience with troubleshooting and maintenance of environments running the IBM i operating systems on power-based hardware. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills required. Strong customer service experience. Strong interpersonal skills. Eligibility to work in the USA. Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or 2+ years of related work experience an asset.
