Role Description First San Francisco Partners is seeking both employees and contractors for the Lead Data Governance Consultant role. This role will be responsible for assessing data management environments and governance capabilities to make data actionable for the business and to turn information into value. - Lead and conduct data management maturity assessments and identify pain points for capabilities including data quality, governance, architecture, analytics, metadata management, master data management, etc. - Demonstrate a rigorous and analytical problem-solving approach, leading information-gathering sessions and preparing and delivering client presentations and work products/prototypes. - Provide thought leadership, frameworks and best practices required to deliver effective data governance solutions to clients. - Identify data governance gaps and assess data governance maturity in a complex data environment. - Develop a strategy for data governance, including a high-level roadmap and impactful deliverable collateral. Qualifications - Strong knowledge of data governance and data management concepts, approaches and tools, especially the role of data governance in the successful implementation of data strategy. - Solid analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize and meet deadlines. - Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills. - Ability to explain value of data governance to both business and technical stakeholders. - Ability to analyze complex environments, distill concepts and present to clients. - Bachelor’s Degree with strong data understanding through experience. - Ability to travel up to 25% if needed. - Candidate must be able to work remotely. Requirements This range is based on our market pay structures. Role Description First San Francisco Partners is seeking both employees and contractors for the Metadata Analyst role. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the establishment and delivery of enterprise Metadata solutions. We are looking for a positive, highly effective communicator that can lead without authority and has a passion for engaging with business, IT, and C-suite stakeholders on Data Management projects to join our Delivery team remotely. Priorities change quickly within a consulting business, and we need someone who can recognize these changes and proactively shift work assignments to support the company. This position reports to the Director of Delivery and Operations and will collaborate and support our consultants and clients. What You'll be Doing: - Assess, define, and optimize various metadata management processes and standards such as business metadata definitions and technical metadata requirements - Recommend new use cases, processes, and standards as needed - Support identification, prioritization, and approach to remediate existing metadata - Deliver ongoing remediation cycle for prioritized business and technical metadata - Support review and approval of extracted current metadata with relevant Business Data Stewards, Business SMEs, Data Custodians, etc. - Support ingestion of updated and approved metadata into metadata tools - Create and deliver metadata awareness, education, training, and communication materials - Participate in business development, proposal creation, and the contracting process - Support the development of project deliverables, synthesize findings, and integrate them into strategic-level deliverables - Provide overall accountability for logistics within metadata engagement - Provide quality assurance review of all metadata deliverables - Document and analyze results from meetings, research, and review relevant documents - Capture and document business, functional, and technical requirements - File all project artifacts and deliverables and maintain document inventory - Facilitate required interactions and meeting sessions - Work on tasks as directed by the Engagement Lead - Coordinate the scheduling of meetings and develop, distribute, and store project artifacts, work papers, and deliverables Qualifications - BA/BS or advanced degree in Business/Computer Science/MIS or related field, or equivalent work experience - 3 - 5 years’ experience in Information Management: Data or Enterprise Architecture, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Warehousing, and Business Analytics - Familiarity with Business glossary, data dictionary, data catalog, and data lineage - Experience in business analysis: gathering data, synthesizing information, forming insights, and providing feedback - Experience with Metadata tools, such as Collibra, Alation, Purview - Excellent attention to detail, a passion for quality work, and the ability to communicate at various levels - Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills Requirements - This range is based on our market pay structures.
