Role Description The Public Policy Department Fellowship involves working with Department staff to advance and defend LGBTQ policy. This primarily includes supporting our advocacy at the Florida Capitol, including: - Assisting with our Pride at the Capitol event - Legislative research and tracking - Supporting Equality Florida’s engagement in various coalitions - Assisting in local policy organizing campaigns Key Responsibilities - Coordinate logistics and scheduling for 2027 Pride at the Capitol, including training sessions and lawmaker meetings - Assist in legislative research and drafting related public education documents - Assist in tracking priority legislation - Assist in lawmaker research - Communicate with legislative staff regarding legislative priorities - Support grassroots and coalition organizing to advance legislative priorities - Support local partners in advancing local policy campaigns - Support cross-departmental engagement in Public Policy Department programs Qualifications - Have an interest in civil rights and policy or politics - Have strong event planning and organizing skills - Be organized and detail-oriented - Have strong analytical and writing skills - Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment - Have occasional weekend and weeknight availability - Be comfortable communicating professionally with a diverse audience - Be capable of working independently, with minimal supervision - Have access to a reliable internet connection and a computer with video capabilities - Legislative experience strongly preferred, not required Requirements - This is a remote position, though there is a preference for candidates who can be available in Tallahassee - Lodging and costs for travel to/from Tallahassee are not included - The compensation for this position is $15/hour - Expected to work up to 15 hours/week - The Public Policy Fellow is expected to begin on 9/27/26 and projected to end on 4/16/2027, with a break from 12/12/26 through 1/6/27

Position Overview Equality Florida seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Health, Education, and Programs Impact Fellow to support our work across three key departments—Safe & Healthy Schools, Health Equity, and Transgender Equality—and two impactful programs: Parenting with Pride and Professional Learning. This fellowship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives while honing your technical and creative skills.
