Role Description The Senior Associate I, Portfolio Analytics, will support the ownership of data and analytics used across Enstar’s Core and Alternative Assets. This includes working with internal and external data sources, identifying critical elements within these sources, transforming the data into a usable format, and loading it into quantitative models for Enstar’s investment portfolio analytics. Key Accountabilities / Deliverables - Core Investment Analytics Responsibilities: - Capturing and transformation of data from various sources (Clearwater, MSCI, Bloomberg, Excel, CSV files, etc.) within the Investments data warehouse platform (Arcesium) and producing an Investments Book of Record (“IBOR”). - Supporting modelling of core/non-core assets for performance measurement (including benchmarking and attribution). - Look-through analysis of Fund of Funds. - Implementing various dashboards within Fabric or Power BI in support of Investments Team reporting processes. - Alternative Investment Analytics Responsibilities: - Alternative investments data capture, workflow/deal management, and building analytics within Power BI/Fabric model. Job Responsibilities - Core Portfolio: - Develop, maintain, and validate pipelines for ingesting core assets data within the Arcesium data platform. - Transformation of data to produce IBOR for supporting/producing core asset analytics. - Alts Portfolio: - Develop, maintain, and validate Power BI datasets/dataflows for Alternative Investments within Fabric. - Support and enhance the current process of code changes, deployments, and production support, responding to critical business queries. - Liaise with key stakeholders - Vendors, Regional and Alternative Investment Teams, Risk, Capital Management, Investment Accounting, and Treasury for investment-related data and forecasts. - Develop & maintain reports/dashboards/paginated reports that capture key Investment analytics for Board and Investment Committee (“IC”) materials. - Build, maintain, and enhance the Investments Data warehouse (Arcesium) for ingesting data of core assets from various stakeholders. - Work in close coordination with the Alternatives and Non-Core Specialty Mandates team to provide analytical and quantitative solutions for Alternatives and Non-Core investments. - Support Head of Investment Operations & Reporting in achieving the Investment team’s overarching mission of identifying, modelling, measuring, and reporting of the investment portfolio strategy, positioning, and performance. - Build, maintain, and enhance existing Power BI power queries, DAX measures, datasets, dataflows, online and paginated reports, and dashboards for Alternatives and Core assets. - Optimize Alternative investments data pipelines and ensure data quality is pulled from multiple sources into our cloud-based Investment Data and Analytics Platform. - Provide solutions to capture, track, and update security master information, commitments schedule by entity, fund documents, call notes, fund returns, manager scorecard data, monitoring status, statement status, compliance status, etc., on private equity funds, co-investments, hedge funds, and long-only funds. Role Description The Data Privacy Manager - US will be a key member of Enstar's Data Privacy function, working closely with the Head of Data Privacy to design, implement, and maintain a robust, multi-jurisdictional data privacy programme across the US. The role holder will be instrumental in embedding a culture of privacy awareness across the business, ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws across all US territories in which Enstar operates, and supporting the business in managing privacy risk in a fast-moving regulatory environment. This is a technically demanding role requiring an experienced privacy professional who is performance-driven and comfortable operating across both legal and operational dimensions of data privacy. The role requires strong communication and collaboration across all functional areas within Enstar and the ability to support the delivery of an effective privacy program and solutions that balance regulatory requirements and business objectives. Role Description Provide support to the actuarial reserving function in the US. Role Description VP Investments will assist the Regional CIO in: - Monitoring of the existing regional investment portfolios to ensure that the asset allocation is in line with strategic and tactical allocation preferences while operating within the constraints of a regulated insurance company. - Constructing optimal investment portfolios and yield projections as an input to the M&A pricing process. - Generating new strategic and tactical ideas for implementation in the portfolio. Enstar’s assets under management total ~$20bn across 3 primary regions: US, UK, Bermuda. Key Accountabilities / Deliverables Primary Responsibilities: - Portfolio Construction for M&A Targets: - Assist the Regional CIO in providing the M&A team with analysis for internal deal pricing, including: - A review of the existing target acquisition portfolio. - Suggested portfolio repositioning. - Portfolio yields. - Strategic Asset Allocation and ALM: - Develop and maintain strategic asset allocation for existing portfolios by evaluating various inputs, including: - Existing holdings. - Relative value between asset classes. - Cash flow forecast from Treasury. - Dividend forecast from Capital Planning. - Liability profile from Actuarial. - Capital market inputs. - New Idea Generation and Proposal Development: - Evaluate current market conditions and develop strategic and tactical asset allocation recommendations for presentation to the group and local investment committees. - Work with Tax, Accounting, Legal, Regulatory, Actuarial, Capital Management, Treasury, and other groups on new investment strategies. - New and Existing External Manager Diligence and Performance Measurement: - Manage initial and ongoing relationships with core fixed income and specialty asset external managers. - Perform diligence on new managers and co-investments being considered. Secondary Responsibilities: - Reporting: Prepare regional BoD/Investment Committee Presentations. - Compliance: Monitor compliance with internal and external portfolio constraints. - Cash management: Ensure excess investable cash balances are minimized and that quarterly dividends are funded through interest income and liquidation of assets. - Budgeting & NII Projections: Work with FP&A to develop NII projections and monitor actual return vs. budget throughout the year. In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require. Qualifications - 8+ years of minimum experience in an insurance company asset management. - Thorough understanding of investment management, strategic asset allocation, tactical asset allocation, and capital markets. - Understanding of the portfolio construction process and information required for asset allocation decisions. - Experience working with external asset managers (or internal portfolio managers) in the development of benchmarks, portfolios, and efficient frontiers. - Undergraduate Degree required and/or Advanced degree preferred; educational concentration in finance, economics, statistics, or a related field is preferred. - CFA designation is preferred. - Experience and understanding of core fixed income asset classes as well as non-core asset classes, including: - Public equity. - Private equity. - Real estate. - Hedge funds. - Infrastructure. - CLO equity. - High yield. - Bank loans. - Emerging market debt. - Other investments. - Understanding of capital markets and insurance capital regimes is preferred. - Strong quantitative skills are necessary in the portfolio construction and risk measurement process. - Strong verbal communication skills are required for investment committee, BoD, regulatory and rating agency presentations and communication. - Strong written communication is required for proposal development and email communication with various teams located in different time zones. - Ability to prioritize commitments and time management is a significant requirement. - Ability to use Excel and PowerPoint is critical. - Strong collaborator with other functional areas and executive management. - Ability to handle conflict of opinions and drive through effective decision making. - An understanding of financial data systems, such as Bloomberg, and experience with large data sets is preferred. - Knowledge of SQL, VBA, Python, and Microsoft PowerBI is preferred.
